This is still a concept only so place your suggestion.

One thing that made battleships obsolete are the carriers which could attack in so much more range but with the way this game works, that is almost impossible. Even the most powerful FritzX and the Japanese torpedo bomber will need to have more than the cost of the battleships to destroy even a single one.

So I will suggest this, torpedo bombers that will only be available in aircraft carriers that would have bombs more so much more damage against ships almost if not equal to torpedoes.

(I'm only talking about planes that is like the same)

The two way the two would be train will be either of the two, summoned or produced.

If produced like a factory, they will be much cheaper than normal planes. Like 3-4 and or if summoned, will have time limit and would need to enter carriers to refresh that time limit.

This could work if Carrier became regular factory again. Though could still work if mega building.

It would be better if it is the plane that will be produced on carriers will be cheaper, higher damage, longer cooldown.

Example:
US carrier:
Can produce Dauntless dive bomber.
Indicated as Naval bomber (carrier)
Cost 4
Same stats for others but damage bonus to ships is higher
Cooldown of bomb and torpedo is 5 turns

Explanation:
Cheaper costs will make carrier a lot stronger and valuable as it is in real life. A carrier can sink a battleship from long range if the battleship itself lacks screen like destroyers and cruisers. So in game players will be forced to produced AA shield for their battleships. And not just the carriers.

Longer cooldown, since Aircraft carriers take too long to rearm and reload planes, because the number of planes in a carrier are usually maximized.

All nations could get a new unit or just a copy of an existing bomber but will be indicated as (carrier).

An slight increased in carrier production cost is debatable.

Further suggestion:
A designated Fighter (carrier) could also be added. This way, players could use carriers as an escort for their battleships against naval bombers.

We are already doing something similar with a Japanese aircraft that can only be produced on the carrier.

we can of course do that for other aircraft as well.

important if we want to do that we need new images if it's supposed to be a plane which is already in the game because it has to be treated as its own.

question: the planes that can only be built on the carrier can they land on airfields to be repaired or only on the carriers?

Cool. They can land on airfields as well. Their only cons is that they can only be produced on carriers. And carriers will be limited, takes time to build, and can be prime targets.

@Jasondunkel is it ok to have increased ship damage for these on-ship trained planes?
do we have such on-ship trained ones? are they used outside ships too?

should we restrict? what if any divebomber plane have bigger damage to ships?
