Crossbowman vs Archer Range - ANSWERED

Post by Calibear »

I don't know if it is just me or I noticed something.

The bows of crossbows are smaller than Bows of archers, should not that mean crossbowman have less range than archers?
Its like the larger the bow, the farther the range. (The arrow also affects the range)

So If I upgrade archers to crossbowmen, they should lose a range but increase damage?
Tell me something I didn't understand to this pls.

An upgrade should make the unit better. It should get a drawback

I think you see my point here, my physics is doubting me on that upgrade.

I think that an upgade shouldn't be less strong than its counterpart.
we might think of making the longbowman as an upgrade for the archer and make the crossbowman a different unit (crossbowmen were cheaper than archers).

I would have to research some, but I would think the compounding action of the crossbow would make the bolt fly further than a basic bow.
