The name MONSTER_LORD has me confused.
Did it mean monster harbringer? The bringer of har?

Also \ is replaced by . in game true?

Did a bit of work today. A few of the older descriptions are also not as descriptive as they could be, so they were changed. Hope this is alright with you.

Code: Select all

<string name="UNIT_TXT_CHARIOT">The chariot is one of the more ingenious human inventions, adding the durability and efficiency of carriages to a deadly mounted force\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_CHARIOT_ARCHER">Chariot archers are easy to produce, using the power of horse-drawn vehicles to aid in mobile hit-and-run tactics\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_ELF_ELVEN_TRAINING_GROUND">The ancestral elven training ground raises young elves to become fast, mobile and loyal guardians of nature\. The art of the blade is studied extensively by its students\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_ELF_BLADESINGER">The Bladesinger uses the synergy of elven agility and the bond to nature as its sword, mastering the art of the blade\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_ELF_TOWN_WATCH">The elven town watch are the natural surveyors of the lands, keeping track of all activity in elven towns and the deep forests\. They are the first to report any incidents and attacks\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_ELF_SHIELDER">The shield is not a popular weapon across students of the training grounds, but those that forge a successful career with it become vital front-line guardians of the forest, and the best friend of an archer\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_ELF_WOODSHAPER">Woodshapers are some of the most revered members of elven societies, for they have the strongest bond to nature that enables their helpful spellcasting skills\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UNDEAD_CORPSE_FLINGER">Nobody knows how the infamous corpse flinger came into existence\. Some say spare catapult parts accidentally ended up in the experimental butchers, while others say the folks there knew what they were doing\. No matter the case, this towering machine is the ultimate symbol of spite to the living, tearing down walls and spreading diseases to civilians\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_MONSTER_HYDRA">Whenever the remains of a dragon are sent to the butchers of the undead, they always end up as a great monster hydra, no matter how many heads the dragon previously had\. Each of the five heads possesses a powerful stare capable of reducing even the toughest warriors into sobbing, paralyzed messes\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_PHANTOM_GUARD">The Phantom Guard are animated from loyal, close bodyguards of rulers, driven to vengeance by their lack of pay\. Should a rider ever come across such a hateful being, they are sure to leave as a skeleton of their former self\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_PHANTOM_DEMOLISHER">Demolition men are probably the last things to come up when the phantom soldiers are discussed\. These poor souls were destined for death anyways, and it just so happened that the gear they had fell into the cold hands of the undead\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_PHANTOM_ARCHER">Battle archers have greater expertise with their bows than a crossbow wielder, and are some of the few rangers to ever receive decked out armor in the forces of their race\. This armor fits nicely now that they have become phantom soldiers, and their bows are even more feared\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_MONSTER_LORD">The last time a king’s bones were disposed of improperly, they ended up in the hands of the undead butchers\. For botching up such a funeral, this regal mutant certainly wants its revenge\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_MONSTER_DEFENDER">Monster defenders are incredibly resilient despite their crude construction, as the hardening of bones from black magic makes them virtually immune to the common blade and arrow\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_MONSTER_WARDEN">The skeleton monster warden comes from a defender given special care by the butchers, installing glands that shoot out tipped fragments of bone to poison enemies\. The multitudes of bone layers around each animated limb and part make it impervious to archers\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_DRACO_ZOMBIE">When dragons are encountered by Cementery Reapers, their tainted reanimation curse turns them into draconic zombies, craving the destruction of all life through its poison glands, and strangely enough, brain matter\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_ELF_WOODSHAPER_ARMORED">The armored form of the woodshaper is a mighty, towering and elegant ent\. While nowhere near as agile, the guardian ent protects the woodshaper from all forms of harm\.</string>

<string name="UNIT_TXT_UNDEAD_SOUL_COLLECTOR">Soul Collectors collect overdue souls from recently slain humans, gathering them into a concentrated lantern that can then be given to production buildings for faster summoning\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_STORM_KNIGHT">The undead never take much interest in nature magic, but the Storm Knight uses the feared power of lightning to paralyze its targets\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_ZOMBIE_BUTCHER">Chefs and waiters reanimated by the undead are in charge of delivering fresh meat for fellow undead as sustenance\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_DARK_KNIGHT">The Dark Knight is perhaps the most feared being serving the undead\. Its aura of pure darkness blots out the very sun itself, inspiring rumors across the pubs and recreation areas of all other races\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_LORD">The undead never submit to the authority of kings, instead being dictated by who has the greatest aptitude in the necromantic arts\. The skeleton lord is perhaps the most solid evidence of this fact, and the most ironic, for its intimidation tactics only work on the enemy\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_LORD_ARMORED">While incapable of rallying any other mindless skeletons like itself, the mighty figure of a lord is still frightening to any soldier, especially if they are working under a living king already\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_LORD_GOLDEN">A cruel fact of undeath encases the golden lord in its grip, as even all of the bling it wears cannot grant it power\. Nevertheless, they still instil a humbling sense of fear and respect across their foes\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_MONSTER_MAGE">With a sleek snake-like body, monster mages are some of the more horrific creations of the butcher, capable of rapidly firing bolts and disarmoring their targets\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_DRAKE">Liches new in the art of summoning dragons first create an undead drake, the weakest out of all skeletal dragons\. Even then, these drakes can hold their own against their living counterparts\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_GIANT_ARMORED">Armored skeleton giants often patrol mountainsides for villages to crush, for no reason other than the sick enjoyment of their necromancer\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_GIANT_GOLDEN">Giant stature, massive golden armor\. One might believe they are the harbingers of the apocalypse\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_GIANT">The bodies of fallen giant creatures, often from the orcs, are prized amongst Liches and fellow Necromancers for creating a towering skeleton minion, capable of traversing mountains\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_HOUND_ARMORED">Armored hounds are generally reanimated out of guard dogs instead of household pets\. They are vicious beings, preferring to hunt down the undefended\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_HOUND_GOLDEN">A combination of loyal duty, familial affection and dark magic forms the Golden Skeleton Hound\. Needless to say, they prefer to get their bones from more natural sources\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_HOUND">A beginning necromancer often summons a skeleton hound as their first real usage of the reanimation curse\. Perhaps this is due to a sense of grief for a long-gone pet\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_MONSTER_TITAN">Should a necromancer forsake their long-awaited prize of a colossal’s corpse, it ends up in the butcheries to create towering giants, piercing the very sky itself and slaughtering its denizens with a swipe of its arms\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_MONSTER_WEREBONE">Combining humanoid and canine corpses together results in the werebone, mimicking the natural strength and agility of the feared werewolves\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_WYRM">Wyrms are the rulers of the skies, often living millennia in peace\. Thus, it is rather unusual for a wyrm to die, let alone to be reanimated by a powerful Lich\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_MONSTER_CENTAUR">The corpses of a rider and their horse are fused together by the undead butcher\. With unbroken forced co-operation between knight and steed, their speed transcends the common undead knight\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_MONSTER_CRUSHER">Beast corpses tend to be mangled into the monster crusher, a sluggish creature resembling ancient scaledfolk that annihilates anything in the range of its club-like tail\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_MONSTER_LANCER">Monster lancers are the solution to any dangerous mounted force from the living, as the monsters\’ ferocious speed can easily dismantle rider bands\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_HOPLITE">Necromancers still possessing the sense of compassion from the living tend to summon weak skeleton hoplites from shielder corpses, securing their base and sometimes keeping the hound in check\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_HOPLITE_ARMORED">Liches often employ skeletal hoplites with armor to defend their graveyards and ward off any intervening fools\.</string>
<string name="UNIT_TXT_UND_SKELETON_HOPLITE_GOLDEN">The vital locations of the undead, such as mansions and altars, are guarded by golden hoplites capable of resisting even the most lethal blows\.</string>

Wait, I thought hydras were the most powerful right next to fel knight.

I like the new texts, they are much more sophisticated than mine.

Mounting eagle/hippocampus/deer and glade mounting unicorn/tiger/peryton are not actually used during game and only used to unlock all mounted variants of foot units.

Those 6 mentioned "techs" actually are shop items to unlock all mounted units riding specific mount.

They are NEVER even shown in actual gameplay.

Yes you can in map editor select them and mark as "researched" but that will actually do nothing at all.

<string name="UNIT_TXT_DWARF_WAR_ZEPPELIN">The ingenuity of the dwarves knows no bounds, as they have somehow enhanced the already legendary status of the Battle Zeppelin. Thx,

I want add though that kobold exuviawalker actually is supposed to have multiple transformations. Basically it's a scaledfolk skinwalker.

Currently, I only have 1 ready transform image, the others I will eventually find time to get to, unless someone else beats me to it ofc.

Renew missing text list?

Post by Mothy »

With a new update, there are still units and techs without proper flavour texts. They're mostly stat upgrades such as spell range and the actual dismemberment tech, as well as the new Christmas units and cheetah rider.

It is about time that the list of missing texts is updated.

I wanted to ask, but how do we contribute to unit flavor text? and also what are the rules to adding flavor text for the public version of the game, I know certain words are prohibited, but is there a rule to make description about the units based on function or of unit design, like if by describing them, do we describe by what they do? what weapon do they yield, or what are they meant for?

and also where do we send these description text to forward where?

To contribute to unit flavour text, simply copy and paste the newest list of missing text into an editor such as docs or word, then replace the ellipses in each line with your description. Any apostrophes should have a backslash directly before it to not conflict with the programming that reads it.

Generally you want to describe the weapon and its mechanics (i.e describe a grapeshot's projectile along with the cannon), or what other function a unit is meant for. A tiny bit of humor or background lore also helps out. If you are adding a description to a special campaign-exlusive or easter egg unit, you don't really have to add the function and instead focus solely on making said unit's lore.
