Unit description: A peltast (Greek: πελταστής peltastes) was a type of light infantry, originating in Thrace and Paeonia, who often served as skirmishers in Hellenic and Hellenistic armies. In the Medieval period, the same term was used for a type of Byzantine infantryman.
Trained at : Barracks, towns.
Cost: 3
Hp: 12
Att: 4
Spd: 4
Armor: 0/4
Abilities:
Throw javelin
- 5 dmg
- 4 rng
Bonuses:
150% Mounted
180% Medium cavalry, Chariots
200% Heavy cavalry
300% Elephants

Categories:
Pole-arm wielder, anti-mounted, hellenic.
Affected by blacksmith infantry upgrades.

Right now we already have some hellenic archer, so I'd rather add peltast as classic skirmisher.
It doesn't even really need melee attack.

Making it anti-mounted is unnecessary and not really historical.

Peltast being a skirmisher? I'm fine with that.

The reason why i made the first stats anti-mounted is because in AoS, Egyptian Peltast a map editor unit, has anti-mounted bonuses. And didn't research fully on what peltasts are before, so i kinda copied the idea of stats from that unit.

Ok, and i got that motivation.

Here's the image. Can anyone make the stats? I have no idea how this unit will be unique from other existing skirmishers.

what about double action? i wanted it to be hybrid so it could be a mix of guerrilla and skimisher...this way it is unique, but maybe there is a better unit for that kind of role...

its good how it is...one action helenic skirmisher...maybe a special trasit could be range? 4 range instead of normal 3...(sounds op i know...)

I guess more range than average skirmishers sounds good.

It isn't op though. Atl-atl Thrower, a primitive skirmisher has more range than 4 at base.

Atl-atl? It costs 3 turns and is trained on Archery range and Primitive Huts.

So a hybrid with archer ?

but with an upgrade: iphicrates' peltast:

well, master skirmisher (2nd tier):
hp 10
attack 5
range 4
armour 0/6

peltast would have same attack and hp, 1 less range, and +1/-1 armour, i think its balanced...
