Visual indicator for capacity of transports

Post by goose88 »

I would love it if units like transport ships, wagons, etc had some type of visual indicator for whether or not they are carrying anyone (just for that player). Even better, if it has 3 spots, an indicator as to how many spots are taken. This would make it a lot easier when ferrying people back and forth to tell right away which need to go forward and which to go backward, without having to double click on each unit every time to see. There are several times I've moved along the wrong transport because I thought it had the cargo and didn't double check.

Thanks!

Thanks, yeah I mean buildings and towers have the "lights on" indicator which helps and I think it would also be helpful for transport units. I remember back to StarCraft or Command & Conquer, they had little dots or solid bars above the transport units indicating how full they were.

Put on a bronze flag in the top corner only visible to the player

Transport indicator

Could we get a graphic that appears on a transport when it has units in it? It's a little confusing when I have several transports ferrying units back and forth and can't remember which one is going which way.

Yeah , great idea it is hard to know whether a wagon is occupied or not .
An indicator that could be shown above the wagon should be nice.

How will this look for transport with 6 carry capacity than?

Otherwise looks good, i support this but only if it will be visible for player himself and maybe for allies (but definately not for enemies).

A 2nd row below, maybe above 3?

It could also be visible if in range of stealth units capable of spying insides.

Well i think the indicator should only show units with turns left cause it might be confusing which one had troops and which one now have troops once we get troops in the carrier. So the green dots for troops with no turns left, red for troops with turn pending.

I think having green dots for units with actions left would be better, since it signals that they still can "go", no?

Reviving the thread because I always forget where I left my units, so this would help a lot XD
Green is the correct color, other colors are "less correct".

Actually, come to think about it, since red dots are already used for units with actions left inside carrier window, I think it would be better to have them red here too, but maybe grey dots instead of green ones for units with no actions left would be more intuitive?
