Privateer (V2)

Post by DoomCarrot »

Historically: Privateers were mercenary ships basically. They were often pirates or smugglers who flew their own flag, and were thus used as a sort of "cold war" force to attack enemy ships without the employing nation actually declaring war. Sometimes they looked like merchant vessels even, and were thus easily able to attack ships off guard.

Gameplay: Pretty much a sneaky tireme. It can only be seen by units within 3 spaces (including other privateers), although watch towers, forest sentries, spies, rangers, and assassins can see it from far away. Can serve as a scout ship, but also serves as a viable late game warship, as it can sneak up on cannon ships and destroy them in 2-3 hits.

Cost: 7
Attack: 4-5 less than tireme
HP: 5-10 less than tireme
Speed: 6
Small bonuses against all ships. All other stats should be the same as a tireme.

So it can ram enemy ships and can it fire arrows like the other warships?

No, it should not have ranged abilities I do not think.
