Elite Light Cav upgrade IMPLEMENTED

Well pretty much everything else has 3 tiers. Actual reason for this is to help improve scouting in general. It's a rather high maintenance endeavour atm, anti scouting is too easy (see http://www.ageofstrategy.net/viewtopic. ... 75#p113593 for my specific reasoning).

Name, not too sure. Master Light Cav sounds weird, so would Heavy Light Cav :D . Something like Master Scout, but cooler than that ideally.

I offer two proposals for stats, one that includes a LoS increase and incase that is not desirable, one that doesn't.

HP 21
Attack 9
Armour 1/2
Speed 6
LoS 8

or if no extra sight, a little extra hp to increase durability
HP 23
Atk 9
Armour 1/2
Speed 6
LoS 7

I feel the upgrade to Elite Light Cav is actually a little pricy for its reward, so I request a reduction to cost 5 for that, and the same cost for this upgrade.
I also play an RTS game called Life 8-)

Btw, is Elite Light Cav's attack supposed to be 7.5, or is that an algorithm based oddity?
I also play an RTS game called Life 8-)

Completely agree with everything here.

Maybe Lightning Light Cavalry, to fit the theme where every 3rd tier cavalry has a unique name, like Cavalier, Vanguard Shield Knight and Gendarme (except for Elite Horse Archer, but they are more like archers than proper cavalry)?

It's probably to have their bonus damage increase a little better with upgrades and buffs, like:

7 damage elite light cav:
+0 -> bonus = +6 (6.3 rounded down)
+1 -> bonus = +7 (7.2 rounded down)
+2 -> bonus = +8 (8.1 rounded down)
+3 -> bonus = +9
+4 -> bonus = +9 (9.9 rounded down)
+5 -> bonus = +10 (10.8 rounded down)

7.5 damage elite light cav:
+0 -> bonus = +6 (6.75 rounded down)
+1 -> bonus = +7 (7.65 rounded down)
+2 -> bonus = +8 (8.55 rounded down)
+3 -> bonus = +9 (9.45 rounded down)
+4 -> bonus = +10 (10.35 rounded down)
+5 -> bonus = +11 (11.25 rounded down)

Edit: Gendarme not Gerdarme
Green is the correct color, other colors are "less correct".

My own view on stats:
Hp 21
Attack 8.5
armors 1/2

As benefactor of cavalry armors it would be just enough to survive 4 high castle shots or 6 from other buildings.
Enough to survive from much wider range of anti-mounted units.

Damage of 8.5 would still give solid damage of 16-19 depending on blacksmith level.

Yeah, 9 damage would give them higher damage than late hussars' normal attack against anything but workers, so 8.5 seems fair. I still think they could probably use a reduction on upgrade cost, though.

Yeah, attack is the least important stat here. The pierce armour and extra hp is what would make the difference because light cav is the only scout unit that wouldn't get one shotted by any archer. With more durability it would be a lot easier to keep eyes in the field

@Stratego (dev) This one got implemented as Ace Light Cavalry.
