Celtic warrior upgrade IMPLEMENTED

An upgrade for celtic warrior.
Research cost: 4
Researched at : Barracks
Stats:
Cost: 2
Hp: 13
Att: 8
Spd: 3
Armor: 1/1
Sight: 4
Actions: 2
Mental resist:
Bonuses:
100% Infantry melee

Added:
+2 hp
+1 att
+ 0/1 armor

Better trained and equipped celtic warriors. More resilient than its ancestors.

Could we get away with a +1 normal armour too, do you think, given that it's a double attack unit?
I also play an RTS game called Life 8-)
And I also like drinking beer! :D

Im kinda against it. Celtic warriors would be too powerful then.
How about raising the tech cost to 6 ?

Yeah, I was also thinking it was bordering on OP for a 2 turn unit... Shall we split the difference, cost of 5, but with the added +1 to normal armour, and see what other people think about it...? My balancing skills do lean a bit towards slightly too much :roll:

Swordsman gets +3 attack, +3 hp for cost 6.
This proposition gives +2 attack, +2 hp, +0/1 armor - it's clearly better for only a cost of 4.
Actually - as celtic warrior has much more usable bonus damage - this +2 attack is more often +4.
Dealing 16 damage in one strike allows for killing off much more units and even spartan wouldn't create a need to use anti-heavy units, as two celtic warriors can kill it in one turn (both surviving).
Even for 6 turns it would be superior to swordsman upgrade.

But I wonder if increasing it's attack further is right.
If the upgrade is even needed, I'd rather make it give +2hp +1/1 armors.
This way lack of blacksmith bonuses to armor is alleviated and it still would make him better at what he does - fighting against infantry.

Wait I only added +1 attack thats why I made this researchable at 4turns.
I agree with being more tough than adding damage. This makes them able to survive further hits. So yeah, rather than giving him bonus att lets only add more armor and hp.

+1 attack for 2 action unit is +2 in almost any case. At least in those I am concerned about.
Anyway - it's better to not include attack boost.

I had finally set stats just as @phoenixffyrnig suggested.
So the same as 1st post, but tech cost 5 and +1 melee armor.
But, it will be exclusive to celtic veteran roundhouse.

I was only against attack boost.
Thought it would be better to change it to defensive stats instead.

I have decided to give this +1 attack a go, mainly because upgrade is exclusive to one building.
