Map editor unit stats: I would only change armor to 6/4 - to always have better melee armor than e.g. prince.

As for regular one - no speed increase imho. I removed most speed increases on upgrades for a reason - to make it more class/role dependand (there is only hatamoto left, but I think it should be changed too).
2 speed unit suddenly gaining +50% movement capability changes things and it would practically obsolete foot knight completely.

Oh no, I think it will affect campaigns with hatamoto. But not so much. I think it is better to have hatamoto stay at 4 speed. For uniqueness.

There is simple solution for campaigns - get new map editor only unit with current stats on the same id instead.
It doesn't even have to be anything related to japanese culture, as currently it's used mostly as savage warrior.
Currently upgrade to hatamoto is probably the best tech upgrade in game.

Probably also winged hussar because of its anti-infantry and siege machines capabilities. But I can agree that hatamoto upgrade is one of the best as it has speed increase etc.

I like the game
I don't really know what to post in the forum but uhm new palace gaurd is a epic idea
Perhaps strong armored
With two handed longsword
Can go 7 tiles
Enemies is knights cannot take out from close range (like catapult that can't fight 1 tile away)

Infantry shouldn't have such speed. Currently the maximum is 4.
Thus we already have a well balanced stats and an image for it.
I think the royal guard doesn't need variants like the ones in aof.

I made the shields more tanky.
Should fit more as a defender role.

You know at first I though Royal Guard was going to be a normal ish heavy unit but this tough hero type is cool as well. But it needs to be producable at Castles. That's the whole point of a royal guard, to protect the King and his residences. So produce and upgrade to imperial at castle.

Yes, I'm still adamant on having it be a regular ish unit. I'm reserving the hero/boss status for the General.

in my opinion the "Royal guard" could have the following statuses in my opinion:
Hp: 35
atk: 12
def: 5/5
spd: 3
rng: 1
act: 1
heal bonus: 2.0
Cost: 6
spell resistance: 75%
Heavy foot melee base bonus
It's a passive ability of a Royal Defender
+1 to all armor +2 atk
only active when inside mega buildings.

I thought we already had a general agreement between the stats. I think it is best not to change it especially with those hazardous stats as I already made the images part defender like. Thus I already liked the stats endru made. Balanced.. they are the trusted guards of the king and kingdom with Outstanding defensive capabilities and a not so powerful ranged attack.

Both, Royal guard & its upgrade + its hero variant still isn't added to the game. it probably is in the to-do list for AoS of Endru. Idk.
