Events will give limited things to players in a timed week once they're active. I've seen some games e.g. Soul knight that had this things so I guess AoS could also have things like events?
E.g.
Christmas! - Rare Christmas skin
( changed every year )
Happy New year! - 80 gems!
Halloween - Rare Halloween skin rare
( changed every year )
AoS happy anniversary! - 50 gems!
(And so on with the events)
This could make the back ground of AoS more "lively".

Gems gems gems. Its not good. Maybe give limited time training of specific troops. Like santa for Christmas week.

Not possible, I think.
I only added things which are at least possible (?). Dunno. Skin should be viable for an amount of time, perhaps the week then finally removed (hidden) from the cosmetic shop, but still appearing to the player who bought it. It is tagged as rare but perhaps it could be free (0 gems) since it is e.g. Christmas afterall.

The skins changes yearly. So it'd be limited so it is impossible getting the same prize every year.

I am 100% against it.
We are currently discussing being more newbie friendly and any limited time, event content is very much opposed to that.
It brings accumulation of specials for players being around longer and creates a wall between them and new players.
Game creators (most of the time) create new ways to make progress faster to bring game to being more newbie friendly and that on the other hand - gives older players "we didn't have that easy" attitude. Which further raises the wall.
