Collaborative storytelling

Post by Sunrise Samurai »

Rules
Keep it appropriate. Nothing kids shouldn't read.

Give everyone a chance to join in. If nobody responds right away, give it a day between posts. If several people post after you, go ahead and add more.

All ao variants exist, and are to be considered equally effective here. Ao units are superhuman, able to compete with swords, magic, aomw guns, and aog lasers equally.

Forum members are encouraged to have, and use, their own character. These are immortal unless the owner themself says otherwise. you can use someone else's character in your scene, but any actions or reactions ascribed to them should be in line with their owner's chosen direction. If you put them in a bad situation, leave a way out.

Players used or referenced must be done so with mentions, so they know of any events involving them.

Most importantly, have fun.

The depths of space boiled, seething and flashing as reality tore, a hole forming to let the eerie glow of a foreign star explode through, followed by a monstrous ship, resembling an insect hive but pitted and scarred from recent battle. Failing thrusters fired their last in an attempt to gain distance, exploding from damage and pushing the ship into the gravity of a nearby moon, orbiting a planet far larger than any which should have borne life. Inertial dampers, tractor beams, even weapons fire opened up to slow the descent, until the ship finally crashed on the dark side, barely in view of the planet.

Insectoid workers swarmed outward from the crash site, undeterred by the lack of light and foreign conditions. Their task: fortifying their new position. Inside the ship, a young empress and her minders discussed the situation. "What have ours scans found?" She asked telepathically. The council of minders antanae glowed as they discussed their answer, then settled as one stepped forward. "Resources on the satellite we find ourselves on are.....limited. There is enough to reach the planet below, but we cannot repair without resources from the planet. Scanners seem to be unable to penetrate the atmosphere due to some kind of energy field, but telescopes have observed numerous civilizations of many species. They appear to be in a constant state of war, both between civilizations and against wandering creatures with extremely aggressive tendencies. It is strange....many of these creatures appear in glowing swirls of light as though in a simulation. Further observation is recommended, though we are confident in our ability to conquer this world and their primitive technology levels." The fledgling empress nodded. "That is well, though we do not have time for observation. The wormhole may be closing, but that instability we used to open it won't go away. If the others replicate our efforts, they may follow. Our ship is in no state to handle the humans or reptilians, and should my mother discover our location I will never build a hive strong enough to supplant her." Further discussions took many hours, plans upon plans about bringing conquest to the planet below.

The inhabitants of the planet were not as unsuspecting as the insectoid empress would have liked. The world over, mages, astrologers, diviners, prophets and all manner of similar individuals found themselves amid visions of war as they looked up and saw the wormhole closing up as it cleared the far side of the third moon.

At the same time, the Insect Queen was preparing the ground around the ship to begin the colonization process and creating plans with her subordinates on how to proceed with the domination plan of the planet how to obtain resources to restore the ship, in a city far from the same on the planet a mercenary with his team analyzed which ship would be the one that landed in the isolated corner of the planet,, the same then asked himself "This is really something unexpected, we have no information about any ships with an arrival date scheduled for today or about ships close by,besides being strange that she landed in that isolated region", at the moment that the mercenary questioned himself about what had happened, one of his subordinates approached and said "Mr.Sombrar,we already got some information about that ship, apparently it is an insectoid ship and it seems to be an imperial one, but it appears to be damaged by the little we analyzed", so the then the mercenary asked "Is it Insectoid? I have no doubt that it came to dominate this planet, even because the people here are weak in technology and are also in constant war,, they would have no problem in conquering the local population, but after all, where did they come from?", the subordinate then said "We still don't have information about where they may have come from, but we believe they arrived by space portals given the great flash that appeared, as well as they seem to have come out of some battle given the damage that the ship has", then the mercenary after spending some time thinking about the situation says "Well, stay alert about any movement in that region, we have to be cautious, because I believe that an insectoid queen wouldn't be too careless with her protection even if it is an imperial ship even if the population of the planet is not strong those flying beasts can become a problem, maybe they are confident because the people here are not very strong although they present individuals with very intriguing and different abilities,Thus, tell the explorers to be careful and not go too far, because we still have no idea of the military power of that single ship, because we don't have much offensive power since this is a very distant planet and it has hostile inhabitants, but that's it for now, good work", the subordinate nods and leaves the room, the mercenary then moves to a panel and starts thinking with himself "The situation is no longer the best and now this unforeseen event, but at least I don't think there's any way they could have gotten much information about the planet due to the planet's clouds , tsc, looks like the landing of the ship affected that whirlpool and it looks like it's moving towards the village, that's really a problem, I hoped they wouldn't move so fast to try to retreat the inhabitants of there, unfortunately we will have another village lost for these creatures, this will really delay my plans even further",while the shadow was looking at the panel he received a message from one of his soldiers, after viewing the message he was getting ready to leave the base"Some of these oracles will probably take advantage of the situation to strengthen themselves, as if they don't already have much influence."

As the mercenary analyzed the situation, he wondered if the peoples who are at war would interrupt their battles if there was a chance that they would become food for a race other just like that whirlpool freak he thought.
