Halberdiers tech too cheap?
Halberdiers tech too cheap?
Halberdiers tech costs only 3 turns while other 3rd tier techs costs 5 above. Halberdiers is easily accessible in early game due to its cost. So I suggest to increase its cost to 5.

I think it's meant to be cheaper than other upgrades because it only has one use. The units that are more versatile or more rounded have higher research cost because they're more useful
I also play an RTS game called Life
And I also like drinking beer!

Re: Halberdiers tech too cheap?
halberdiers is a cheap 2 turn pole-arm unit and can one shot an early game cavalry and has more health than its ancestors so they cannot be killed easily than before now, plus can be researched after gisarmeman tech which costs 4 turns so overall it takes only 7 turns to have halberdiers. And I know that halverdiers is essential but I still think they need to be more costy by a turn or two. Idk others think though.

Actually both techs are 3 turns.
The same as lancer.
It is like that, because originally there was only one tech with cost 6.
I just split it, but with the thought to someday balance it.
I am waiting for concrete propositions, but I think it may be changed to 4/4.
It is after all temporary solution as tech upgrades are all gonna have to be included in overhaul finally.
But that's discussion for another topic.
