What about giving adv. center an additional option to produce espionage units (spies, assasins, maybe something else) to make it more useful in lategame when all needed researches are done (or all possible researches) and you for example lost an opportunity to build more production instead of adv.center. Seems reasonable because researching and espionage are closely connected.

Most people just delete the Adv center when completing the needed techs so i doubt that this will make it any more useful.
Maybe a unit that is unique to the adv center will do. Like zealots or smt.

I know and do it also. But sometimes you can lose your tc and deleting adv.center is not really meaningful and additional option to produce something (like blacksmith in the blacksmith) can be cool

Or new workers/laborers. Like a representation of the university with higher education

I can see a lot of units in suggestions that can be trained in advancement center

May b we can have engineers that r the exact opposite of blacksmith and affect siege

Cost: 2 turns
They can find flaws in your nation's technological advancements and occasionally fix them to make your war machines more effective

May b they can have buff spells with range 1

Improved ballistic bolts
+2 power for ballista based unit/tower/ship
Lasts 3 turns
Cooldown none

Heavy siege boulders
+2 power for stone throwing units (catapult, treb, siege ballista, catapult ships)
Lasts 2 turns
Cooldown 2 turns

Advanced gun powder
+2 power for cannoneer and gunpowder based unit and ability
Lasts 1 turn
Cooldown 3 turns

Repair transport wheels
+2 speed on wheel based non-combat units (mainly wagon, packed siege etc.)
Lasts 1 turns
Cooldown 3turns

(At least adv. centre researches gun powder so unit matches with building)

Siege engineer. Sounds cool. New bunch of abilities (maybe not only damage, but range). But is somehow connected with unique abilities of Coolguy and is contraversial since from one hand it could repair one-sided Coolguy abilities and in the other hand kill the idea of unique legendary units.

Thats y i have limited it to only increase damage where blacksmith increases damage and armor and mending

However this siege engineer is unique in this way, it can give +2 speed to wagon and packed version of siege and also increase gun damage of infantry which blacksmith can't

This theme looks dead. But once again: what should person do when all needed (or all available) researches are done, but there's no opportunity to build production building instead of adv. center?
The proposals were: espionage units, workers, some kind of siege engineer.
Or some kind of consumables (equivalent to ore from the mines or money couriers, but more science oriented), which can speed up the production of other buildings.
