And i also mean current warfell but in dev version.
You must understand that current warfell in release version and current warfell in dev version are 2 completely different factions.
Like basic elves without any upgrades available at all and glades.
If you want a complete list of changes related to warfell than i can provide that.
Also yes they are not comparable to imperials but they are cheap and when combined with new crystals (which now have 60 turns cooldown and 0 action cost) this may become good replacement for core units (in place of basic units).
Especially if you will find and use some extremly awesome combinations.
For example if used right updated warfell pegasus knight may get 4 actions and when uses 1 for merciless thrust he will get 3 attacks with 68 attack power.
You can than use crystals to get speed up to 17 in total and no counter for 1 turn.
And you are saying that warfell will be still inferior to imperials?
For me warfell will become second most favourine in-game sub, right after upcoming glades.

I like most among glades new archer of glades and new double swordman (especially mounted forms).
Unicorn viligant when maxed (but without auras and other temporary buffs) will have 75 attack and 3 actions.

2 turn cost swordman of warfell when maxed can get for 1 attack +18 power and for 2 turns +6/+6 armor (on top of blacksmith). Yes it is only for 2 turns but he can get +14/+14 armor in total (16/18).
Warfell shielder by the way can get even higher value, up to 24/26 (or if you will find a secret you can increase this value up to 30/32).
2 turn cost archer can summon once drake. Permanent.
3 turn cost duelist can get also +18 attack and no counter for 1 turn.
6 (now) turn cost pegasus rider can get +3 speed, no counter and +1 action.
Main power of upcoming warfell will be in 2 points:
1. Cheap units;
2. One time use free-to-use crystals on them.
Alas i must admit that now we might need to provide a buff for imperials as well to make them on par with warfell.

Some existing subs might need a total rework, or at least some buffs, or they just end up being never used again

Balance issues:
1. Blue crystal (normal) still gives spell resist. Must give only spell power multiplied by caster's spell power. (If unit has 3 spell power than this ability will grant to allied unit +3 spell power).
1.1. Blue crystal (normal) requires green crystal tech.
2. Warfell captain must have gold crystal in place of green.
3. Purple crystal (normal) still affects enemy attack power instead of dealing damage. Effect is premanent.
3.1. Purple crystal (Magi Bellator) must do 12 damage instead of 10.
4. Red crystal still gives +9 attack instead of +6 per spell power.
5. Unicorn defender must have 51 attack instead of 45.
6. Warfell support tech must cost 1 turn instead of 4.
7. Red, blue, green, purple, yellow, orange, white and black crystals must cost 4 turns instead of 6. They also must not have any tech requirements to unlock them for researching.
8. Crystalline perception 1/2 and crystalline comprehension 1/2 techs must be moved from mage tower to warfell crystal reliquary.
And one sound issue:
All peryton and harnessed unicorn riders from glades use sounds from tiger riders. Sounds weird.
When this is fixed we can release version.

2 minor issues are left:
Unicorn guardian and unicorn viligant are using tiger sounds.
We can fix that in next version and we delayed release for good amount of time so we can release version.
