Well they dont quite look "roman" but if it is histotically correct i dont mind.by the way, there is already a roman archer topic called roman saggitauri opened

Cool. Some of the images don't look quite perfect but I do really like the cohort.
These are great ideas. What will their stats be?

Well the velite looks more barbarian while the rest have a lot of persian look(mostly due to the headgear)

Re: rome units (time where rome raised (before christus))
I mean, for some reason a lot of them seem proportioned "oddly". I don't mean that they look bad, but they seemed to be shaped differently than the legionnaire, and I think the spears look a little odd - maybe extending the size with an overlap might help.
Also some of the clothes do not seem to be nearly up to your shading standard.
That is why I said it that it didn't look like you had perfected them yet. But that is just what I thought.
I know that Alexander82 will be really happy - he ha been wanting more Roman units for a long time.

Easy! .. blue, why bite one of the hands that fed you a game like aos, Patroid has been a big part of this game. Show some Respect
and remember, wherever your at,there you are
Re: rome units (time where rome raised (before christus))
Yes I think the red color could use some of your shading. And that must be what looks a little odd - the slinger's helmet looked a little odd to me. But that part is no big deal in my opinion.patroid wrote: Edit: i made this before i read the posts, so i gonna reshade it soon

The velite looks much nicer, I think!

PS that's a little funny to say, because to the Persians and Greeks, the Romans were barbaric. And in the later years, the Roman army was composed primarily of German Barbarians.TheBluePhoenix wrote:Makes him look barbaric

Re: rome units (time where rome raised (before christus))
lol civilized is from the point of view. Basically every civilization calls itself "civilized" and everyone else "barbarians". In some ways the Aztecs and Incas were more civilized than the Spaniards, but they were branded "barbarians" and then conquered.
Hence, why Americans are viewed as "uncivilized" by many Europeans.

Hmm. Maybe the shield? It is a little hard to tell between the reds? But I think it is pretty good - or maybe we could make the shield to be player color?TheBluePhoenix wrote:Hmm i am a bit unsatisfied with the shading of the hastati a bit.

Re: rome units (time where rome raised (before christus))
Hmm no its just that i cannot see any shading clearly. In the game it will not be visible. It has to come out a bit. Maybe radiant colours might help( the rest is upto shady guy )

Re: rome units (time where rome raised (before christus))
Looks very good.
The shading in hastati is not very visible and radiant (as it is in these two images) i had to look very closely to see the difference, which may not be visible during the game at all. So all i asked you is to take a bright colour for shading so it becomes visible
Thats all

Yes, except for the hastati might need a little extra shading (his arm is a little flat looking)
Thanks!
