, i can see his side, so for me, it's not a totally bad idea to have giant mechas, but i would go more to the NEXT's from Armored Core than Mobile suits from Gundam, since they had a more realistic aproach. (it got like 4 timelines, and they all end on a post apocalyptic devastated planet )

There is quite a lot of things why a giant suit is a bad idea but you can choose.

Heh. Well any sort of an mecha is unrealistic unless about the size of a human. That's how physics works.
But I might consider ignoring that.
