M1 Abrams Test Bed Prototypes

These vehicles are prototypes developed back in the 80's when the abrams first came to light.
These test beds included equipping the abrams hull with different turrets and guns.

One of which is called M1 TTB

The next failed experiment included the Abrams with a manned turret equipped with a 140mm gun with a autoloader as well.
It's name is M1 CATTB

I love how us Americans make millions of variants of the same vehicle (looks at M4 Sherman).
