new infantry ideas

Post by TrueSlav »

with me reworking the looks of pretty much every infantry image in game, and also reworking the way particular units work, i think i can also find some time for the creation of entirely new infantry units. Here are some of my ideas that i'd like to share with you:
NCO - a field officer, able to coordiante the movement of ground forces in a small vicinity by granting buffs. think of a mage from AoF, but with a rifle instead of a magic staff.
Field artillery officer - fulfills a similar role to the NCO, but instead is less armed and coordinates supportive weapons such as artillery, this guy would be rather weak in direct combat, instead he should stick around on the rear.

I suggest switching to modern names :-)

Chief of Staff (with a pistol, the rifle was taken from him :-))

Artillery forward guidance officer. actually works with artillery, increasing its accuracy (then becomes a UAV pilot)

Advanced aircraft gunner. Ideally, this is an armored personnel carrier without weapons, going with the troops, increasing the accuracy of the use of aviation.

And again I promote the idea of special-purpose personnel, expensive ones, but with the ability to secretly go to the rear and aim long-range weapons - a cruise missile and the like. They can work with all kinds of troops - artillery, aviation, missilemen. Now that the special forces, that the cats are incomprehensible infantry, but worse than the specialists. And they must be expensive elite.

of course! i did not think much about the names, the ideas came first, names came second, since the lack of historical accuracy.

And for the rest of your answer, i agree.

Not really new infantries, but instead remakes of the US LMG and riflemen
