Empire of old-Ogres

Post by Savra »

Since they aren't going to be given to Orcs because they cross over too much with the original orcs and they don't fit any other race and basically everyone wants them to be a hostile neutral I'll make them a hostile neutral faction to add to the current 2 we have already and that way give a much harder neutral to fight in multiplayer.

Hostile neutral faction:
Ogres- ancient empire

Infantry:
Ogren grunt:

Trains: Ogren Garrison
Cost:2
Hp:25
Atk:11
Rng:1
Sight:4
Spd:3
Arm:1
P.arm:1
Res:50%
Standard bonus to buildings

Ogren Phalanx:

Trains: Ogren Garrison
Hp:20
Atk:9
Rng:2
Sight:4
Spd:3

Res:50%
Standard bonus to cavalry

Ogren Enforcer:

Ogren Battleborn:

Ogren Centurian:

Cost:5
Trains: Ogren Garrison, palace
Hp:68
Atk:16
Rng:1
Sight:4
Spd:3
Arm:3
P.arm:5
Res:80%
Standard bonus to buildings.
Ranged:
Ogren Watchmen:

Ogren Arbilistmen:

Ogren Huntsmen:
Cavalry:
Ogren Cavalier:

Ogren Warbringer:

Ogren Blood hunter:
Spell casters:
Ogren warpreist:

Ogren Battle mage:

Ogren Spirit breaker:
Siege:
Black forge ram:

Nightingale Ballista:
Buildings:
Palace:

Ogren watchtower:

Black rock wall:

Ogren Garrison:

Ogden Guard house:
I will fill in the rest later.

I'm debating whether or not they should be able to progress so not only do they grow in numbers but also techs though a forge.

Uhm i see no reasons to not give them to orcs.
But ogres must be more brutal and healthy than orcs.

Maybe not into main body but as a sub.

:(

That was my original idea that got shot down, now it's getting brought up again and considered?
(Oh great, if this is the case then I just got stuck back in the sub race loop again, curses.)

Well, the way I thought of the Ogres working in later expansions was like a human/ Orc mix.

They were supposed to be strong like orcs but more civil and organized like humans.

New things that I didn't add due to me keeping it within the 15 units, 5 buildings radius for a hostile neutral, were as followed:
Infantry:
Ogren Emperor
Ogren Battle driver
Ogren ringleader

Cavalry:
Ogren crusader

Ranged:
Meh, none at the moment.

Siege:
Black forge Grinder

Air:
None

Navy:
Ogren war barge
Ogren ram ship
Ogren siege boat

Spell casters:
I believe that's all for now.

Buildings:
Black forge (Armory)
Ogren colosseum (stables)
Ogren siege shop
Ogren shipyard
Ogren monestary

Ogres ride rinos only, they have no air, their casters are melee focused meaning ranged offensive spells aren't really their thing. Their techs are like orcs upgrades but like human blacksmith upgrades, you only can get them through the black forge and you have to upgrade each unit individually like humans do.

I don't know where it was by myself shot down.

If this will come as sub for orcs than lower amount of units.

I want them as a sub.
Their power and health level must be similar to 4-5 turn of orcish units but with costs of 4 turns (for base units, casters and more advanced ones will gain higher costs).

They are a bit more stupid but more brutal than orcs so less armors, more health, more damage.

Huh, my version has them more civilized and more smarter then orcs. They didn't use giants, dragons, or flying machines/units and had to rely on their own ingenuity to siege areas.

To be honest orcs are actually quite dumb, goblins have the intelligence to make inventions or force others to do it for them, but they tend to not care about their own lives being put at risk in the process.

Orcs would rather use their own strength of the strength of other creatures like giants to get them through a siege.

I was debating on making all ogres count as giants since the actual human scale for one to be considered a giant is 8 ft, and higher. That is also the reason I said the yet I should count as one too.

Ogres are big, cannibalistic humanoids in some cultures, but some others show them as groups of powerful warriors who were good at fighting.

So if intelligence is in question, then is it referring to them having intelligence like goblins were they know how to build things and the such but just are careless about safety. Or is it referring to their resistance which would probably be good as 50% considering it would give this race as a sub, a perfect role that set them apart from the basic race?

If your thinking that by making them all count as giants would make them too powerful, remember that we have a lot of suggested units as well as units in game that have bonuses to giants.

Seems like I prefer the more intelligence one, but people can vote on that.
But that is your project so I guess it should be your choice.

Well if they are intelligent or not is debatable, yes.
In OUR fantasy they can be more civil than orcs.

I also think to give all of them counting as giants.
And definately no for mount units.

As for current units you made stats they must be increased to the level of 4-5 turn cost units of orcs.

:?:

No cavalry?

So they won't get rhino riders which was their form of hourses? That's literally their only cavalry, the race counts as giants yes, but that's because the meet the 8 ft tall standard for giants. Besides that, I'm pretty sure if something counts as both giant, and cavalry then the unit that has a bonus to both those would end up with a higher damage output over a basic spear men due to the bonuses stacking. More units would have bonus to Ogres anyway, plus the fact that you have to upgrade each ogre individually, using the forge meaning unlike Orcs were you can just get one upgrade to upgrade main body of race, you have to upgrade all their classes one by one to get the races upgrades, hence why I said they were a human orc mix in upgrade and unit style.

Being a "sub" or not that doesn't mean you must building a full race of them.

Also I wait for troll expansion if about Giants.

Roles and stats better adjust after that.

*personal opinion*
Ogres wud be nice as fighting orks as natural enemies*
Not evryting big brutal working together..
I still like - keeping orks ORKS.
*personal opinion off*
Than cud be more, but as a part need limits.
Also with all that goblinoids they cover the remaining holes.

And units minim cost is 4!
And who wud invest in this if you have to upgrade evryting INDIVIDUALLY

1.goblinoids - part of main race
Eg 3 spearman tipe - all cheap and strong
2if want a sub prefer uruks to expand that line during game - they have masss upgrades.

And about mount look in general at orks not as ogres.
Too much from heavy cavalry. - with all his bonus
(Normal Rhino is small for ogre)
Thy gave me a sword to pierce a lie,
Serrated edge for the deamon inside
A moment I'm torn between two tides,
But all I need, I bear inside

Their were rhinos that were the size of mammoths.

Btw, these guys are 8 ft tall at the minimum, 10 ft is their max hight. That is not too big to ride a rhino.

The largest rhino is the Elasmotherium.

Alright so we have one balanced who wants it a sub, and another who wants it a hostile neutral.

Sub:
2
Hostile neutral:
1

They are supposed to be an old empire, to me it seemed to fit considering I was basing them off of a certain race of Ogres that were basically an empire.
