Veteran Units

Post by StormSaint373 »

The concept is a good one, but not every race has one...

Humans: need one!
Elves: need one!

Dwarves: Dwarven monk
Scaledfolk: Anaconda (Needs switched from map editor to playable unit)
Undead: Drougr (Discussing)
Orcs: Zurgo Helmsmasher

Suggestions...

I don't know that anaconda.. What's it?

May be for equal chances for hum and elf.
(Not sure for armor and attack increase(only) for elves and undeads.

May werewolf or" advanced warrior "gets similar thing for humans

Serrated edge for the deamon inside

But all I need, I bear inside

Anaconda is a map editor only unit, so that spot is freed up for any suggestions.

Humans- I think they had one suggested but you might have to check. Werewolf I believe was passed over because of difficult programming.

Elves- free

Orcs- Zurgo

Undead- so drouger is getting vetraning?

Dwarves- dwarven monk

Scaledfolk - free, I think we found a use for the draconian after all. :)

Humans: need a veteran unit without so much coding, at this rate... It will be a long time, if at all, B4 werewolf will be implemented.

Elves: so something like Paragon Archer or Bladesman. Or the unit can switch between the 2.

Undead: Yes, The Drougr was designed to be Veteran unit

Scaledfolk: GOOD IDEA! umm, could someone please come up with stats, I'll try revamp, but I'll need help...

Dwarves: Dwarven monk (Good enough)

Orcs: Zurgo (maybe a name change for something more generic? Like snow orc or something, kinda strange to see an army of orcs with same name... Like Negan)

Not sure if veteraning for an Archer-unit is good idea (elf)
And hope werewolf still gets in.
And yes a "warrior "should have it

An idea for an elven Veteran unit. . .

Half-Elf

Usually outcasts or addition to an elven army, they are quite capable of having the Veteran Power. They learn and mature faster than elves due to their human half.

I hope werewolf gets in too, but in the meantime, humans need alternatives.

Leave half elf to mercenaries. Maybe make it a elf vigilant.

For any ranged unit it is bad idea to give veteran effect to it.
For humans we can add some monster hunter unit who has veteran power that increases his damage and hp (not armor though) per each kill.

For elves moon elves will get one but i won't spoil much.

Elves: again I am looking for expediency. The moon elves, just like the werewolf will take time to put in. So maybe the best idea would be the elven vigilant, but maybe a name that distinguishes it from other elves...

Humans: I have a unit in the making, the Seeker, maybe this unit would be a cadidate?

Note: veteran power increases Armor, Pierce Armor, and Attack by +1 per kill. Not hp

Than wait. No need to rush.
If you will rush than it can be unbalanced, broken and just bad.
Like many scaledfolk units made by brave.

I prefer for now different units:
Mithril guard, rifleman and cleric for dwarves.
Nearly all units of orcs instead of zurgo.
For humans warmage is better (despite of higher cost) because of armor ignoring magic missle.
For elves their bladesinger for same reasons.

Ok, made a myrmidon and a elf vigilant. These are more along the line of the orcs one and are less op. I think.
