How do you make the characters for the game cause I want to try to learn

I use photoshop, many use gimp

we save images in png format (trasparency is mandatory for the background)

image size is 32x32 or 32x64 pixels

For mobile I reccomended either pixly or pocket paint. Pixly isn't free for all features though.
