New Naval corpses and skeletons for undead — ARCHIVED
New Naval corpses and skeletons for undead — ARCHIVED
Due to the large addition of new naval units for elves in combination with the Orc Merlocks/Merblins, and the upcoming scaledfolks, should we add 2 new corpses and skeletons to undead based on one being ranged, one being a sea creature, possibly a cavalry one due to the orcs and elves ones?
Re: New Naval corpses and skeletons for undead
I was thinking of a zombie shark for the creatures, undead plesiosaur rider for the cav, and a skeleton cutthroat or something, which I suggested earlier for the ranged

Re: New Naval corpses and skeletons for undead
I don't know. Crocodile riders drop the gutter on death, while the elven sea cavalry will have a lot of variation (thus they might just drop normal water corpses), also the lack of specific amphibious units for undeads is due to the fact that their entire army is amphibious.
As long as all undeads will continue waterwalking I don't see a great need for an expansion (also in next version the water monster will be in as well).
Anyway I'd like to know also @makazuwr32 opinion on that topic.

Re: New Naval corpses and skeletons for undead
i suggest to see how undeads will work after full implementation of their monsters and dragons.
Alas i want to point onto 1 important thing: undeads right now lack of water/amphibious casters and this point specifically (preferable with raise dead spell mainly) must be filled.
Also i think that this could benefit undeads well because in late game they lack of cheap and fast water units.

Wasn't the treasure ship ability working like a reanimation spell?

Re: New Naval corpses and skeletons for undead
Aside from reanimation, what about using ghosts as "water" casters?
I think that ghosts might have full waterwalking as they float on the surface of the terrain they are on.

Re: New Naval corpses and skeletons for undead
That could work, question is what kind of ghost? A pirate captain or something because I made that somewhere for undead which we could turn into a similar concept with the spectral rider.
As for the mounts part, maybe we could skip that and just try a ranged unit one instead, since we would have plenty of those.
Just remembered we also have an aquatic ghoul suggested, so we could just implement that for some corpse too. I'll bring up the 2 topics for people to see.
We could also try something with the ships too.

I meant actual ghosts, not themed on water.

Anyway we can plan many different units as long as they aren't resurrected.

I could make some once I find some fitting ones that aren't (input colour here) lady, (theirs quite a lot of ghosts that are named either white lady, red lady, brown lady, etc. You'd think they'd get more creative.)
Maybe we could still make a resurrection form for the shipwrecks? Like ghost ships or something.

No, I think that resurrection is already covered completely and we need no more reanimatable units aside from the remaining skeleton monsters,

I'd say new ressurection from shipwrecks of water only ship-based unit is fine.
Alas only 1 unit i'd say.

We could do ship wreck and sea monster since both will be common, I don't think a skeleton pirate seems good coming from a sea serpent.
