Re: horse archers
json already done, we lack of image
i have searched all around generic units and english units old topics...it was not there
about mounted crossbowmen, this will be a separated unit, england wont be able to produce them since they didnt use the crossbow that often as the bow and the longbow...other factions will be able to produce them, mmh, france had a historical unit called the craneuqineer (maybe i am wrong) that was a mounted crossbowmen

Re: horse archers
I think most countries would have have mounted crossbows, only some, mainly eastern, horse archers. Not sure though

Re: horse archers
yeah, is a good idea. but i wanted to give british this unit since they used to use bow more frequently than others nations
i am not really sure if they prefiered the bow or crossbow for mounted skimishers

Re: horse archers
They definitely had "mounted archers" who rode to the battle field and then dismounted to shoot (kind of like early dragoons).
Not sure about actual mounted archers. We will need to check

Re: horse archers
I don't think they did have, certainly not to any meaningful capacity anyway. The long bow was too big to use on horseback, and I think horse archers were more used where steppes or plains provided huge amounts of open ground. The wooded and hilly terrain of Britain wouldn't really have suited.

That one looks ugly It needs a new armored version. Goodlooking and historically correct.Squirrel5555 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 10:38 pm Well here is an armoured horse archer. Not sure who made it, maybe Quad?

Re: horse archers
Yeah, I was looking a bit more into it last night. Aswell, it seems that the difficulty of accurately using a bow on horseback means it was mainly only used by cultures who were born in the saddle, so had exceptional riding ability.
Examples would be Mongols, Seljuk (Turks), and Magyars, Slavs, Baltics (ie pretty much everywhere in Russia and Eastern Europe.
Not quite sure who you have in AoD, but this phoenix will definitely be flying when it is released, it sounds like it will be great

Re: horse archers
i had some ideas but yeah it confirms them!
right now i ahve done lots of units json and some basic techs
i cant test it but i can say i am trying to make it balanced and funy
there are some few missing sprites i will post in its own topic
for example: musket upgrade tech, fletching tech, and some more
also some units still need some polishing so maybe i will ask for them later
