Heavy War Elephants Redesign IMPLEMENTED

Heavy War Elephants doesn't seem to have elephant armor. Maybe it could have it as design, i mean i don't think war elephants would go to battle bare-skinned right? They are very vulnerable to arrows and stuff with current image.

Currently im not capable of redesigning such huge beasts so could someone else try it?

Yeah i was approaching something like that. But I realized we can't paint the elephant itself to pink.

And now armour metal plated.

No, no, don't be upset. Don't compare yourself to an experience guy. I have been making this things since i got here. You can look at my past sprites in the forum and you will be super cringed. Look on the bright side, you made a good looking leather war elephant, may b we could use it as a skin or an upgrade in the future

There are even better people than me btw, for example, Endru, Alexander, Savra, Stormsaint, Patroid and other artists.

I were in this graphics/coding field for 3 years, before i had to quit (due to family pressures) and take my foot to astrophysics.

Its good i resigned . else i would have been a legend in teaser memes.

An armoured mahout wont be necessary i think, at least its not the elephant which is fighting. The kid on top good get a fix imo.

Yeah, i think so too. No need for armoured mahout. Idk about the kid holding a mace though. We should probably leave it like that unless they get an upgrade or something.

I think the current Heavy War Elephants needs to be replaced. I also remember that this was also a request by Stratego years ago.

Btw, do you think the war elephants needs platforms and people holding stuff? We could try to add those to make it appear more realistic.

Nah mate, im super bad at animating. And the reason why im so quick with doing something like that is because there is a base image. When i start from a scratch i probably take 1 hour or so to do a good human.

Like this, i made Pillager from a scratch. But this was made pretty quickly thanks to a reference.

Actually.. That's pretty good

Well, atleast you are a God at preserving Balance, without you, AoF must've fallen to chaos units. One of the reasons i quit AoF in my early days was because how broken the Orcs are. They destroy literally anything. Art work is superb though, most of it was Savra's and Alexander's.

Nah, it doesn't have much added design. I doubt anyone would pick an unarmored heavy war elephant as a skin.

Castles are not necessary imho - as far as I know, that not all war elephants were used like that.
What comes to my mind for Elephants to be used in war, is 3 potential roles:
- fighting platform (mainly for shooting/throwing) - pretty much any extensive castle usage required stability, so I doubt those elephants would be prepared to charge and struggle, rather to stay as calm as possible
- heavy cavalry - that'd be complete opposite of platform, heavy cavalry main usage is breaking the lines, so those elephants would be trained to go wild
- non-batttle - e.g. transportation, draft animal

War elephants in-game would probably be representation of those trained to charge and that doesn't really give much stability as the platform.
They would probably only have a mahout, lying down on the neck and trying his best to control animal direction.

Although - I'm not any expert on elephants.
