How does the Scoreboard work?

Post by Badnorth »

Like the topic name, how does the score board work? The points and stuff. I don't know how this functions.

Yeah, it's taken a fair bit of observation to get this far, here's what I got...

You get points for
TCs (110 pts per TC)
Standing army/ current units (I think 3 pts per turn of cost per unit)
STARTING a building (looks like 3 pts per build)
STARTING a construct, ie wagon, ram (not sure)
Finishing researching techs (not sure)
Killing units (3 pts per turn of cost)
Destroying buildings (3 pts per build)
*phoenix reserves the right to edit this list if his memory improves*

So obviously things like kill points, research points etc stay on your score, and points for your standing army or TCs can be removed from your score.
What happens to units that die / buildings that are lost as a result of your poison or burn attacks I do not know. Same with killing of neutral units like John's sheep or deer.

If Stratego or Endru could fill in my not sures or add to the list it would greatly satisfy my curiosity too.

I sometimes get huge points early for some reason. Like, 200 or so ahead of other players. So i got curious on how the scoreboards work.

Thanks for the info Pheonix.

No probs dude :)

Yeah, can be a bit tricky to read into the scores, but you can get some valuable information out of it, particularly early on. Obviously most score changes are small, so if you see discrepancies of approx 100 near the start then that will be down to TCs. Other little clues can say how efficiently someone is starting, but this is straying into phoenix's secret information territory

Personally, I like to scroll down to the scores before ending turn after a particularly brutal attack and watch the digits fall away  :D
