Age of Infinity

A simple spaceship warfare variant. Grass will be the void, water will be star clusters or nebulas. Towns will be the planets, all you can produce are spaceships, no vehicles or infantry.

Well I'm gonna do that in AoG as well. Just that I can't see the void being next to the grass (like it was in SWS) and that's why I was thinking of completely dividing that.

I see, did you started to work something on that? Since it is a deep space, i'm not sure if we have tilesets to begin.

I'm thinking that AOI should be a top-down variant and since there would be less core units needed, maybe can have new mechanics to test aswell, as having unit orientation and alternative town system...

For core units, i put them in order with a referencial cathegory from AOS that would take a respective role...

Fighters - skirmishers/spearmans
Frigates - elite spearmans
Destroyers - swordmans
Cruisers - archers
Battlecruisers - ranged knights
Battleships - melee knights
World destroyers - catapults/siege weapons
Flagships - Improved unique ships from classes above.

Miscelaneous spaceships:

Carrier and boarding spaceships (transports)
Builder spaceship (worker)
Repair spaceships (laboreur)
Colonization/Seed ships (town rebuilders)
Space Rigs (Mobile bases)

Buildings:
Space Dockyards (factories)
Satelites (watchtowers)
Space Stations (Mega buildings 2x2 or 3x3)

Races:
Not sure, having most of the ones above is enough to a faction... And some can live without archers or knights...

We do have the tiles for SWS, I just need to resize them. I think I can handle the tc setting just right by making a new terrain category.
