Great Ornithopter - bigger, can carry one unit. - ANSWERED

Post by Humancarpentry »

I would love to see a larger Ornithopter which would be very similar to the current Ornithopter, but with only 75% of the range, an extra 10 HP, and the ability to carry one unit. I would think it would cost 6 turns, and require flight and amidexterity upgrades to build. Also, I would restrict it to TC only to prevent abuse.

This would be great for strategic drop of one worker, one assassin, one elephant, one catapult, or possibly a wagon full of trebuchets...

On second though, you might need to prevent it from carrying wagons to make sure that it is not abused by players carrying wagons full of trebuchets.

Awesome game, by the way.

So if we find an example from the ancient or middle ages, you might like it? Or no?
IDK if one exists.

It used to have a movement of 5 and no one liked it. I think people like orthnithopters because they can be used as anti catapult since their fast and can easily go behind enemy lines

Why don't we place in a hot hair baloon or some sort of archaic zeppelin?

Lol, well, actually, never before has an orthincopter actually really worked.... other than gliding a few dozen feet off a hill

so the orthnicopter in and of itself I have always found to be kinda a lolz unit because it is so unrealistic compared to everything else.

Hot-air balloon, zeppelins, or blimp, these are modern-era flying transports. We could add them to other games but not to AOS. The ornithopters are ancient-medieval era coz Aristotle made prototype so this is the only accepted unit.
Strategy...Strategy.. I want your strategy! Wait, did you just only used tactics!?
