In duels, i'm not really sure but i think the one who kicked the other will receive the gems that was on bet.

No idea about 3+ player games. Maybe it'll just be there and the gems will go to the winner of that game.

In duels:
Kicked player becomes ai. You still need to win in order to get bet.
Alas in case of no bet you can just surrender to finish game faster.

In 3+games:
If player is not part of any team or last member of that team he becomes ai. If player is part of team that has more than 1 member (even if that one is ai) than all his army will become part of ally. Alas if there are 2 allies to choose i am not sure who specifically will get those units.
