Military gliders +IMG

Post by TrueSlav »

Military gliders would be like stealth parachute planes which could be detected by a) all units in certain
range within the glider b) new special units like recon planes and searchlights.
Upon landing these could convert into either normal parachute infantry or new glider infantry.

BTW, if this idea doesn't get accepted just implement these as normal paratroopers.

This would be so epic in game. You could sneak behind enemy lines and gather Intel, or look for the factory that is producing a Maus and destroy it.

What do you think could they work like trucks for the air so that not like parashootets the plane disappears when the troops are dropped, nur to fly back empty und get refilled with troops at airports or Sperrung?

I think same as the paratroopers but stealth.

I like this idea better, because let's say you need to deliver some medics to your teammate, but have been cut off from each other. Simple fix: use a glider. This will help distinguish it between paratroopers. It could have a landing mode, where it can pick up troops, and a flying mode, where it can fly around. To switch modes you need to have a tow vehicle pick it up, which will be an ability that takes up a turn. This is my idea, feel free to disagree.

I have a similar idea actually. The glider should be a carrier unit. Players can add units inside depending on its carrying capacity. Much like the helicopters in AoM, Military gliders should land (transformation ability) only unlike helicopters it is a one time landing.

Of course, you should be able to ferry units over from airport to airport normally in aircraft form, but once you land you can't get up. Would be really fun trying to sneak behind enemy lines, esp now that we have recon aircraft ingame.
