DUCW, American transport unit. (amphibious and land)

Post by IRONBLASTER36 »

I wanted someone to create an American DUCW units. They were used to transport troops. And it worked on both land and water. About 21k such were built! It would be a great (and important) addition in our game too. I suggest it's specs as follow:
1. Speed(land): 4(we'll need to balance it properly)
2.Speed(water):2/3 (We'll need to balance this and huggins transport boat, as per me huggins should go way faster than this)
4.Armour:5
3.Health:40
3.Damage(for a weaponized version, it just had machine gun mounted on it): 5
4.sight: 4/5( dependent on movement finalization)

Well here is what I tried to do using pixly, I've just started it, I read about it in other topics. Well here's a rough skeleton outline of the transport. Sorry for my poor design, I've no idea how to use it. Do you have any tutorial video for it? Anyways can you send my engineer photo, I've to design new units as per this- http://www.ageofstrategy.net/viewtopic.php?f=195&t=7401

Cool this unit will be a good addition to the game. I have the Json made and I am in the process of testing it in-game test version. I just need more fine tune stats or I will make them myself from testing.

And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.

The stats can be mathematically generated by the xls.spreadsheet that the dev uses.

I think same stats as transport jimmy, but -1 speed and waterwalking (.50 movement)

lol, yes and we dont have xls for buildings and infantry either.
and and not for any other special things either (like remote controller little machines, v2 rockets and so on)

however the "hp" is the only thing we could xlsize for transportships based on their weight (i use the "weight = displacement" to determine hp on other ships )

Here is the stats I have put in.
"costTurn":4,
"hpMax":40,
"power":5,
"rangeAttack":1,
"armorPierce":2,
"armorNormal":2,
"sight":5,
"rangeWalk":3, But has a terrain modifier on the ocean
My json also doesn't have an ability. I can add one but I rather not but I don't see any other way to get around the image part of it.

Here are two jsons that we should use in making the stats for this cool vehicle
  • M3 half track:
    Cost: 4
    hp: 30
    power: 8
    sight: 3
    speed:5
    Capacity: 2
    Bonus: 100 infantry
  • Higgins boat:
    Cost: 4
    hp: 35
    power: 0
    sight: 4
    speed:3
    Capacity: 2
    Bonus: 0
So the DUKW was a special operations vehicle of sorts and was used in the battle of Arnhem in the evacuation of stranded British airborne troops across the Rign. In other words it should have enough health as the M3 and damage as the M3 because it was often used as an assault craft. As for speed, I have already set the modifiers to make it 3 in the sea and 5 on land. As for health I could live with a reduction maybe 35? I really want to test this in game before we make stats though.

I like this one, Since now japan has a special armored amphibious transport we probably need to include this one too
And of course the other nations will need this kind of unit too.

Agreed. Anyone feel like drawing an image?
