Monster engineering IMPLEMENTED

Post by Midonik »

I think techs that would make insectoid big and large creatures strong would be a good idea.

Tier 1 - cost 4 - Monstrous weapons - whether it's mandiblades, claws, acid or fire, this tech increases the offensive capabilities of insectoid monsters - +2 attack to all insectoid big and large creatures
Tier 2 - cost 4 - Ironclad armour - improves the exosceletons of insectoid monsters - +1/1 armor to all insectoid big and large creatures
Tier 3 - cost 5 - Behemoth size - increase the hp of insectoid monsters - +5 hp to insectoid big and large creatures

Sounds cool.
I'm just afraid then the monsters might get a bit too powerful in some cases :o
Are they all underused right now? If not, I'd maybe go with 1 or 2 separate techs instead of this 3 step one.

There is no way to increase the big and large creatures attack (they aren't affected by heart of swarm or any other attack techs, including the stealable ones) so they don't scale very well. They seem to be rather weak as well honestly, maybe excluding the scorcher, of course summoners and maybe suicide units are worth making but they also don't benefit from this techs as much.
This techs' effects are not that strong and they only affect a few units. Compare them to human techs for infantry or artillery, for example.

I think it's good
I might want to rethink the stats for these cause now they would affect the spiders too. Although I don't think the techs are that strong necessarily.

Chunky ant

I think it will work, it's different enough from the other techs.
