Mobile Operation Center MOC

Post by ZakTheBuilder1 »

A planetary vehicle that is like a mobile fortress with wheels
its not a tank but it has tank properties
It is able to carry 5 soldiers
It has a main cannon that would be a rail gun howitzer
It would have anti air missiles \
The vehicle would move slow due to its large size

This is what i have in my head
https://www.halopedia.org/M510_Mammoth
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/JlE5rm

The vehicle would provide air defence and ground while protecting troops inside on uncharted territory
Like the Ratte in aoww but with more roles and three speed

A fellow man of culture I see.

I think a mobile base seems like a nice idea.

I'm afraid this would be hard to balance without making it cost over 10 turns. I mean, it would need to have more health and armor than other vehicles I guess, carry capacity, anti air and and ranged weapon, and only balance measurement other than cost is low speed.
And if it would cost over 10, I think we should make it an unique unit (meaning one per player), and also make it only available in the fun mode. We actually had a similar idea before (tho it was a mega walking base, and it was also meant to be even bigger), I'm ok with something like that as long as it's a fun mode only thing, it can even cost 20 turns. We are gonna put nukes in that mode after all.

Random memory from my oldest braincell:
"I present to you, the MCV!"
Just kidding.

This would sound like a carrier that rolls on land

A moving factory? Thats a complicated concept, much diffrent from the orginal suggestion too. I do agree that 5 carry capacity is too much, Im not sure how that would even look in game.

Sorry if my train is off the tracks, but probably that can be another idea for fun unit.

OK three units
Speed of two
Cost of 13

Its pretty much a gigantic personnel carrier with a array of protection

In halo it has a shield
Some kind of earth shaking howitzer
And like anti air missiles
It also has a office inside to conduct special meetings...

That's why its called MOC :)

Do we agree on it being an unique unit for fun mode? We could boost the size and cost a bit even then.

If its a operation center then it could have an buffing aura or smt.

Cost mainly, size is a factor. Generally things that cost over 10 should be avoided in normal games. They are impractical.

Personally, I think the elephant is a better choice. It is basically the same thing (a super tough APC) but a bit more practical.

The elephant has tracks and is older.
The reason I chose the mammoth is because of its size and what I know about it from playing the mission with it
Its like 10x bigger than the elephant.
And its not just for transporting troops
Its like a general being in the battle but safe telling the troops what to do.
So for that aspect it will have a buff on soldiers near it.
While having its weapons ready and shields
Since it is a fun unit it should also produce riflemen because on the inside of it there is weapons on the walls and suits
The mammoth is so big it can hold a warthog or the off road armored jeep with the chain gun inside.
It has a cargo ramp in the back end of it like a cargo plane.

The elephant is a tracked APC not a gigantic mobile operation center with APC abilities and major defence and offensive capabilities.

If we're going for an unique unit then it should be even bigger than the original suggestion I think. I would like to give reptilians an Godzilla-like unit as a counterpart.

Why not city - sized? If we are going into crazy sizes we might as well go all out really.

will we have tanks in this game? (I don't like futuristic games but I can try to help) I'm out of work on my favorite AoWW game so I have to look for what to do.
