ambidexterity and town patrol

sometimes i have a hard time finding stuff.
could you guys help me?
what does ambidexterity do when you research it? and town patrol?
thx a lot in advance for any help. :)

Ambidextria: workers can finish building most buildings and units 1 turn faster, for large hp buildings like castle, where it originally took 22 turns will now take 18 turns, basically mend rate increases from 12 to 15

Torch: sight of many buildings increases by +1, if u bought peasant with gems, it will now b unlocked to b made in tc for 1 turn cost

how can you buy peasants with gems? not in a normal game, right?
only if spells are enabled?

Just make upgrades enabled, not spells enabled
