Resting in peace

Post by LordOfAles »

Cost:8
Builders:Crypt
When this tech is researched,no unit can step on any corpse on map(they still can be reanimated and can still vanish)

Unless every race gets a spell to destroy corpses, this is simply too op. Currently, stepping on corpses is the only way to keep undead from being too numerous.

Try making it an aura a few of the undead get, 3-5 turns research, and it prevents corpse decay.

Preventing decay was requested before. And the idea for each race to get anti corpse spell is a good idea. Those should be core spells

Maybe a standard ability, burial, that can be done by most standard units. A spearman would probably have ditch digging as part of basic training, and it stands to reason that this is how most armies would remove corpses. With this added, we then remove corpse decay entirely.

I don't like much this idea. To begin with a corpse can't defend in any way, i can't see how those corpses could avoid destruction. Other than that the corpses after a hard fight start occupying a good portion of the map. That would just make impossible for other players to even move their units unless they already researched a way to destroy corpses.

Alternatively they might just attack corpses but in some cases you would have your entire army doing that.

Might make corpses able to be stepped on, just not deleted when something walks on it.

not really, or we could do it like a carrier like the bridge.

but i suggest smth else: this tech could be a tech meaning all corpses do not vanish ever
or
this could be a magic staff stabbed into ground and 10 tiles around it no corpses vanish
or
...

Just have a tech to remove vanishing from all corpses. We can still step on them, but it's honestly necessary to have some way to prevent overcrowding, or else a 6 player free for all would have way too many corpses for an undead player to possibly lose.

there is already a tech that increases the corpses vanishing. That tech (that removes vanishing) might be the 2nd step.

Ok. This tech will require corpse guardian (so it can't be voted until corpse guardian is)
