No i started making the image of the unit to look like the first picture that i posted

The shield looks like strawberry. A round shield perhaps.

I made some sketches.
Just in case we need to pick a different one.

I will also try change the image with the big shield. (i will mount the rifle on top of the shield).

Tell me your opinions about the curents options and suggest ideas to make them better.

First – i like more dwarf with really big, roman elgionare-like shield. Maybe change position of rifle in both variants only so it will look to the side.
Second – i still don't get fully your pbeta designs.

The beta designs are:
- Just for fun.
- In case they do not like the idea of the shield sticked at the ground.
- Inspiration for a hero? or feuture units.

I will try change the position of the gun as you said to see how it will look
