Specify. You mean fire archers, or some 'torchbearers'?
Also, it would probably affect ships rather than buildings, because most of AoS buildings are shown to be made of stone.
Cheers, everything will go well! Yes, ask the other person to lend you something/go on a date/do anything else! They ain't gonna bite your head off!

New unit:Fire Archer

Post by Lancer »

This new unit cost 5 gems to upgade and he is like normal archer but shoots flaiming arrows they deal some more damage and PENETRATES pierce armor. So his attacks will ignore pierce armor the unit he shots.Picture for thi unit is same as normal archer but his arrows have yellow and orange color on top on it so it looks like fire. The way you compare normal archer to fire archer is that the fire archer has flaiming arrows in his backpack behind him. This unit takes 3 turns to build

I like the idea of a flame arrow but not the way you have described.
I feel it should be:
They have less range than normal archer so only 4 - due to weight of arrow and loss of aerodynamics.
No extra armor penetration - it is no stronger than a normal arrow.
Normal effect against troops.
It then sets fire to buildings and ships, these would stay on fire until a worker mends them and puts out the fire.
Each turn they are on fire they lose 8Hp.

Fire Archer

Post by Alex486 »

How about a fire archer that has the same stats as a regular archer, except it can burn mechanical units like battering rams, cats, trebuchet, walls, and towers. Basically any unit that can be built by a worker gets extra damage like the poison archer does to people units. To stop the burning damage from continuing, a worker has to make a repair.
The extra burn damage could be 5% or something like that. Thus, you could use one to attack several walls to accelerate a breach.
Anything is feasible with enough money and power.

Ok. I had thought that Patroid was going to make this image a while back, but I guess not. What do you think of this one?

not bad at all, but looks almost the same as the normal archer - could u make it a little more unique?
ideas:
- burning arrow in the bow
- some kind of pot on ground (like on AOF)

something like this.

Hey that is cool! :) But I think a torch stuck in the ground is more realistic than a pot.

Any of various usually domestic containers made of pottery, metal, or glass, as:
a. A round, fairly deep cooking vessel with a handle and often a lid.
b. A short round container for storing or serving food: a jam pot; a mustard pot.
c. A coffeepot.
d. A teapot.
:D

they are good
