Best if you can give: unit/structure icon, and unit/structure properties
And a description how you imagined the new upgrade.

Too many units, needed tech to place some unit into the one group. For example: combination of 2 give 150% stat unit, 3 -175%, 4 - 2x stat

Too many problems:
1. Engine wise — this will require lots of work for not that good improvement;
2. Balance wise — this will make some units which are not intended to be good at something actually good stats;
3. Also another problem is that we can't allow combination of wounded units into new one with full health;
4. And lastly we can't give for archers high attack or combine different units into 1.

Too many problems for too little output.
