Cluster bombs READY

Post by Sombrar +1 »

An idea that I had posted on discord, this technology will enable a grenade ability for some insectoid infantry and an attack ability for some artillery units of the insectoids, and this technology will be researched in the barracks or structure Hatchery for 5 turns. The fragmentation grenade and artillery ammunition will cause around 10 damage plus the disorientation effect that will give -1 speed, -2 attack and -2 vision for 1~2 turns affecting just units of flesh and blood having 2~3 waiting shifts.

Technology description:Insectoids reuse remains of their large creatures as jaws and carapaces, strong and flexible enough to allow the manufacture of cheap explosives with fragmentation capabilities, allowing the enemy infantry to weaken and become disoriented.

Fragmentation grenade description:A cheap explosive produced from the remains of large insectoid creatures, not as efficient as conventional materials such as metals but having very similar effectiveness.

And the image for a version of cluster bombing for Insectoid air units.

Skill Description:A barrage of bombs are launched at the enemy, causing severe damage to any nearby units, destabilizing and decreasing the enemy's morale, as well as leaving them disoriented for some reason time.

Seems good. Maybe the effect should only be -1 sight so the sight isn't lower than speed, I feel like that's annoying. Can be -3 attack. The artillery ability and the bombing one should probably be aoe while the grenade is single target.

I feel like the ability sprites could have some more shading.

I don't see a problem with artillery having this ability with Power Range.

Now about the skill shading, I'm going to rework that.
