Re: Glade Cloudbreaker
Should I make this like the Griffin rider and make it a flying landed instead? If so then I could make a chimera rider one for the other.

Re: Glade Cloudbreaker
Isn't chimera a goat, lion, snake amalgamation? My prefered depiction being from God of War 3.
We stil have Pegasus to be used at some point.

Re: Glade Cloudbreaker
Pegasus is for humans, elves have a different mount similar to it though it you look into the peryton rider topic.

Re: Glade Cloudbreaker
Classic chimera - no. I would prefer to see that beast either for scalefolks or for neutrals (as boss maybe).
I am thinking maybe drake of elves (smaller version of elven dragon).

Re: Glade Cloudbreaker
Ok, I'll make the new topic for that as well, this one needs a name change though because it doesn't like up well with the other glade wardens. Either glade enforcer or glade avenger.

Re: Glade Cloudbreaker
I like idea of glade unit riding on thunderbird.
As for name - maybe Glade + "Skytrooper" or "Skyguard".

well 'thunder' does break or split the clouds so think name is perfect, may a stun ability like storm hammer of dwarven griffon rider in WC3

Re: Glade Cloudbreaker
The thing is that if this unit is for glades than its name must be themed around "defending" because currently we have:
Sentinel (anti-cav infantry)
Sentry (infantry archer)
Vanguard (infantry melee)
Guardian (infantry melee shielder)
Defender (land cavalry knight)
Protector (land cavalry lancer)
Ofc with "Glade" as first part of name ("Glade ...").
So we need if we want to expand glades to use name related to defence.
That is why i proposed "Skyguard".

Why is the wing black from the rest of the body.
Wise, Might, Loyalty. Forever stands Warfell.
Re: Glade Skyguard
Part of its black, the other part is a reddish brown.
Some birds have a similar colour scheme, the horse half is also blackish, which is why you can hardly see it.

But perhaps it would be maybe better if it has the same color scheme as the rest of the body, but we will see what others think.

Re: Glade Skyguard
Make polearm (weapon part, not the handle) a bit smaller because currently it looks bigger than hipppgriff himself.
Also lower hp down to 50 and change bonuses to glade protector ones.
Imperial gryphon rider also should have human lancer bonuses.

Re: Glade Skyguard
Just to remind you all, there are 2 elven subs what need content so may save them some flying units
Don't feel like huge selection of evrithig is the right way
Sky keeper and now a guard.. Meh

Savra, may you make less dark and maybe change beak (red blue whatever) - to easily differentiate from griffins(dare to be creative)
Also it looks like is laying not FLYING!

Re: Glade Skyguard
Their are plenty of flying units left for the other subs, moon elves for one will be getting owl variants of the eagles, Sun elves actually have quite a bit of mounts from the orient mythology one of which could take the place of the unicorn mounts, it is known as the kirin.
The position of the unit is actually based off the Griffin which also looks like it's laying.
As for image I'll work on it.

Re: Glade Skyguard
What don't you like in "Skykeeper" and "Skyguard" names?
Maybe you have some better idea of name related to the defences that is not used already in glades?

Re: Glade Skyguard
Wood elves should not have so many flying units IMHO
While names will do, I remind you that there were the Eagle mounts idea if still actual
With so many units flying I see no point of sub
Where would fit better...

Re: Glade Skyguard
Wood elves (main race) would have eagles for ranged flyers, but would require research and would just be combining the eagle with the ranged archer, also they will have one melee flyer that acts like the humans Pegasus rider. Meanwhile glade elves (sub group) would have hippogriffs, and thunder birds to Arial mounts. Their are plenty of flying mounts for all the elven sub races, it's not that big of deal. Also we can re-use the same flying mounts for each sub race, it's not like each one has to have their own set.

All 4 archers, swordman, spearman, maybe blade dancer.
They would be trainable for combined cost of mount (eagle) and rider and they could just mount onto separately trained eagle.
Speed alas would be 4 for them (basically they will gain ability to fly and increased hp at cost of dodges from techs). And eagles would later able to dismount rider so you could transport through water another unit.
As for flyers for all elves in general:
Wood elves can have in addition to their current eagles hippogriffs (i like idea of being them somewhat alternative to drake riders of humans).
To new moon i planned to give polar owls.
To rising sun we already wanted for quite a while with sunrise samurai kirin riders (chinese worm-like dragons).
Also i should remind that glades later would be locked like every other elites sub.

Re: Glade Skyguard
Well, I didn't know about the riders were expanded to include the swordsman, spearmen, and blade dancer, but the glade part is exactly what I meant. They shouldn't be counted as part of the main wood elf race.

Re: Glade Skyguard
I think that a single eagle rider could be fine for them (Glades are like elites wood elves at the moment) once we add mounting but the unit should be only trainable and not the result of a mounting ability.
