If dwarves are getting mountain goats, give them .2 mountain walk.

I meant that the goat should take the unit angle, not vice-versa xD

anyway I've made just some adjustments to your work. I'm glad you like it.

I was actually thinking to make both goat and pony (goat can be an excellent mountainwalker)

I think if we will use goat as scout it should not have any additional armor.

Now a note, I'm not very good at drawing horse's, or much cavalry in general, but here was my attempt from scratch. Shading looks patchy though.

Images are getting nice, my suggestion is the animal position is too 45degree and too topview, a little sider and less than 45degree would fit better for the 3d view of everything.
Also animals better recognizabe from side(er)view, this way you can not recognize them what they are.

so the degree somewhere between this and the current total sideview horses,

for example the boar rider was in better angle imgo , this:

this was also interesting pose, i like movemental poses so not all units face and stand the exact same direction always.

my extra suggestion is the weapon: i suggest some more natural weapon position, that mostly means not vertical and not horizontal, but in various degrees between them

but they very are nice!

Honestly, I liked the 3Dish mounts, but they could use lighter, smaller shadows.

Do we have any defenders ready yet? Or is the concept still being thought of?

Cause all I got for an idea of the defenders is something similar to imperials, minus the Dragon rider and Griffin rider.

Basically:
Defender riflemen
Defender crossbowmen
Defender shield guard
Defender hammer guard
Defender halberdier
Defender phalanx guard
Defender razorback rider (lancer unit)
Defender grizzly rider
Defender cannononeer

If you want I could make these, and I could try them under the adamentium colour scheme.

i think that is a bit too much and also we are going for a slightly different unit collection for defenders.

Personally i by the way want for them as main mount Mammoths.

Hm, well that was just what I thought they might look like.

All I knew was that they were going to have a shielder, riflemen, and possibly a grizzly rider.

But here's a template under the adamentium colour scheme. The other is closer to the in game ones colour scheme.

How about this list then:
Defender rifle guard
Defender shield guard
Defender hammer guard
Defender phalanx guard
Defender razor boar rider
Defender grizzly rider
Defender mammoth rider
Defender Captain of the guard
