Strzyga IMPLEMENTED
Strzyga IMPLEMENTED
I thought puting some Slavic folkre units in would be cool. Here is an one idea, strzyga:
A strzyga (Polish pronunciation: [ˈstʂɨɡa]) is a female demon somewhat similar to vampirein Slavic (and especially Polish) folklore. People who were born with two hearts and two souls and two sets of teeth (the second one barely visible) were believed to be strzygas. Furthermore, a newborn child with already developed teeth was also believed to be one. When a person was identified as a strzyga he was chased away from human dwelling places. Such strzygas usually died at a young age, but, according to belief, only one of their two souls would pass to the afterlife; the other soul was believed to cause the deceased strzyga to come back to life and prey upon other living beings. These undead strzyga were believed to fly at night in a form of an owl and attack night-time travelers and people who had wandered off into the woods at night, sucking out their blood and eating their insides. Strzyga were also believed to be satisfied with animal blood, for a short period of time. (Wikipedia article)
I thought it could be an 4 turn cost unit bulidable in graveyard, that has an lifelink and can turn into owl (perhaps an bat with lower speed?). So a weaker vampire, that can hold a melee units for a while.

Re: Strzyga
So stats:
Cost: 4 (bulidable in graveyard)
Hp: 25
Attack: 12
Range: 1
Actions/turn: 1
Armors: 1/1
Speed: 3
Sight: 3
Active effects: lifelink
Albitlies: eat up a corpuse (after reaserch, it was eating men's insides after all, also an next way to get hp), transform into owl (18 hp, 4 attack (claws and stuff), speed: 5, sight: 5, 0/0 armor, flying).
How about it?

Re: Strzyga
Raise attack to 12
Arr armor: 1/1
Remove speed in water (it doesn't need that because of second form)
Raise speed in owl form to 5
and it will become decent unit

Noone likes Slavic folklore ? Jk.
Well it's a cheaper vampire. It can block a way for enemy for a while. Well it won't be so hard to kill using arrows, but... Who uses archers against undeads? Unit is worth a slot in graveyard, it would increase usefulness of that building. It needs an image now. I can search for some image sample, but basically an child (cause they mostly die young and then are undead so they don't get older), perhaps a girl, it's says it a female demon, that is... not very fresh (I think a dead blue would be good, y'know what I mean? Reeeaally bale blue), in dirty rags, with some blood on teeth in open mouth (no longer teeth like vampire has, human's teeths, perhaps you could make that second set of teeth, but not necessarily, it says it's barely visable anyway), and a bit longer nails than awarge human (well they don't cut them in woods, before they die they might grow a bit), perhaps also in blood. The owl form should be just a normal owl.

Re: Strzyga
The concept is indeed interesting.
I would like to see more vampire units in AoF, they are hardly used as it is.

Re: Strzyga
How about we decrease the cost to 3 and make it deal lower damage, like 10? Maybe a lil lower hp. Well the undead little girl that doesn't even feel pain jumping on you, biting, scratching and sucking your blood would be scary and quite bad, but it deal 50% more damage than a warrior with sword, that doesn't seems that good.
Well I would be against the lowering hp, cause killing a strzyga according to folklore won't be easy, but if it's too strong for a 3 cost, then I got a cool idea - how about a "starving" passive that makes here lose 6 hp/turn, so it needs to acctualy eat/drink once in a while, it could also use the animals as it's told in the Wikipedia description. Effect is same as the vendigo one.

Re: Strzyga
Or, if she dies have her turn into an owl (like how you need to kill the spectral rider twice!)
In this form, she has a chance to get away, since it is flying, she'll be easily killed by archers in this state, but difficult for Melee units.
Vampiric units, or all undead for that matter, don't NEED to feast, but they become weaker, so maybe minus 1 to attack/turn.
And keep her attack the same. So it stays 1.5x warrior.

Re: Strzyga
Well that turn into owl on kill can work. It would require you to an archer attack or two (rather) to kill her in owl form. It's not so fast so you can manage to catch her with archers, but yeah, you need to have archers as undeads. That can be interesting. Thought... It's not based on belives directly, so a small minus here.
"Strzyga were also believed to be satisfied with animal blood, for a short period of time."
Based on that I thought it must eat, but I might over interpreted. Well the second effect you suggest would require a new sort of lifelink that would give her a way to regain the attack, unless it's 12 turn unit, cause her attack would drop to 0 in that time. Too much fuss over a single unit, so nope.
Ok, seems we got five options:
- the one written previously, with 4 cost and 12 attack, dying normally (I can go with that)
- the one with 3 cost but 10 attack, perhaps lower health (I'm against here, it's hard to kill that according to belives so I wouldn't like a lower health)
- the one with 3 cost, 10 attack, same health as first, and starve passive [lossing 6hp/turn] (for me the best options, the starving is not exactly according to belives but it doesn't difference much)
- the one with 3 (or 4?) cost, 10 attack, same health as first, and dropping owl on kill [that's literally how that called in JSON file, as it's made for corpuses] (quite different than one from belives but reasonable, also interesting, I would prefer lowering the attack anyway)
- the one with 4 cost, 12 attack, same health as first and the owl from.
What would you like the most?

Re: Strzyga
I think 4 cost be minimal
The "starving" effect can work)
(-4 HP /turn)
And 13 attack is fine.
(may bonus to infantry - I want gouls have it as well)
Liflink.
Than can have a better hp, 25 is fine
Full heal on corpse!
Idk upon death owl dropping.
I have no problem with itself just may better if can transform normally...
And owl img, stats.

Dang there is more and more ideas for that and we kinda can't come out consensus.
About owl there are stats somewhere up there, and I think I will try to make an image..

Diffrent unit and files. I didn't test it in AoG because I would need to change a lot of stuff so... But I think I messed something up in the Strzyga transformation files

@Alexander82 What do you think? Can we have this in? JSON is basically ready but we don't know how to put an on hit lifelink. Do you know how to? Well I thought of 0 range aura (like in eleven outpost) but not sure it would acctualy work out.Midonik wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 7:38 am So stats:

Re: Strzyga
I should check but a range 0 aura should definitely work
I think that the cost might be a bit low for a lifelink unit but we can still adjust it later.
What about the image? I haven't a clue.
