More Ship types! Naval battles!

Think of a swashbuckling salt-scurvy marine battles. It would be great and would add new map ideas. Here's what I thought:

Each race would have at least one specialized ship.

Humans:
- Man o' War, and other common human ship types.

Elves:
- Sleek and Asian, preferably light colored.

Orcs:
- Hard, dark ships with oars, they don't use sails.

Undead:
- Ever heard of the infamous Flying Dutchman? Rotten deck and sails. Spectral and could sail on land, at least the Dutchman.

Other nautical beasts would be great (e.g. Krakens, will o' wisps, flesh eating mermaids,).
Neither the flames nor the depths could claim me!

I think man-o-wars should be the most balanced, elven ships should be very fast but not very strong, orc ships should be very slow but powerful, and undead ships should have some sort of awesome special like that :)
The day is coming when a single carrot, freshly observed, will set off a revolution.

Orcs need another ship they don't do well in water. The others seem to do ok humans have some of course and elves have a good one and seemingly better transport ships as well as long range and those sweet moving bridges lol it took me a while to notice that one. Undead units walk on water so they dont need many. Maybe the cannon ship from AOS would be a good one for orcs?

ok.
this is time to break the rules bit - so let orks onto water a bit.

i suggest not to start with a gunpowder unit, but
a) a hard to take down ship that can hold units and they can fight out from it
b) a normal hp ship that can hold no one but have only 1 range attack (like orks grappling and invading the other ship)

For the dwarves add "DREADNOUGHT"

for the orcs add "juggernaut"

For the undead add "ghost ship"

For the elves add "elven destroyer"

For the humans add "Brigadine or Man of war"

Now i'm a bit more free so i might start drawing something new for naval battles ;)

A nice idea for orc's ship: Orc's galley= a strong ship that has the ability to whip slaves (the rower). Everytime the ship whips the slaves it become faster but the hp also decrease.
Whip slave ability= cooldown=2 turns

Nice idea but what about increasing speed when winning a fight? Like you bring new slaves to work for you.

Why are the orcs getting all the slave units? Didn't humans have them too at this time? ;)

Orcs generally represent the most animalistic and barbarian part of real humanity. Humans, in this kind of games, have generally a more neutral to good alignment. Since they have a setting based on chivalry and honor i think that would be out of place.

Sounds fair enough, I guess even the subconscious of fiction writers in the past had thoughts of slavery being inhumane and dishonorable.. :roll:
