Composite Bowman - Longbowman Upgrade IMPLEMENTED

Research cost - 7 turns (in archery range)

Suggested stats:
cost 3 turns
18 hp (+4 to base)
8 damage (+2 to base, after all blacksmith upgrades they'll get 10 damage)
7 range (after all blacksmith upgrades they'll get 9 range, as they get now)
3 speed
0 armor (2 after blacksmith upgrades)
0 piercing armor (2 after blacksmith upgrades)

this way they'll become good alternative to crossbowmen.

So, +2 atk and +4 HP? I think cost should b 6 instead of 7

Good idea since in a normal game they are a crossbow with +1 range for an additional turn this would make them more used, also dont name it 'heavy' there are too many 'heavy' units already, anything except heavy. Master (lile you said) or veteran or royal

Yeah, I agree.
Royal is fantastic. Master is overused actually, and gets tiring a lot quicker. Veteran sounds a bit odd, you are training long bow archers that presumably never got to the end of any war...

Hi!!!!! , look i think we should rename it to "English longbowman" to have more sense of a name and also, I have made a sprite!!!!!

The longbow in the game is the English longbow. I don't think he needs an upgrade - but we did upgrade the samurai.

As said coolguy. Also image looks too woody and has no team color on it.

The reason it looks "woody" its beacuse i tried to make him loke like hes wearing a gambeson, you can google it and tell ne what do you think

Still needs a team color and remove that cross because he looks like camouflaged hospitaler.

The characteristic simbol of english longbowmen is the red cross round their tunic, I will try ti give it team colors by tomorrow.

Hungarian hussars you mean? Or normal 5 turn cost ones?

Also regular longbowman (he is already english one) don't have that and please make upgraded version in the way that it really feel like an upgrade and not a completely different unit. Because right now it feels so.

Both actually, even though I agree how about me making a sprite for multiplayer and leave the other sprite (the one with the cross) for map editor.

Okay I am good with that. He just cannot have more range (he gets 9 already with the upgrades).And the stats you give up top look fine.

How about the new name is composite bowman or marksman? @makazuwr32


(Despite how AOE has been establishing longbows as stronger, truth is composite bows were stronger and may even outrange long bows and were harder to make than long bows, since archers r going towards hand arrow launchers with crossbows and arbalest, I was thinking longbow will go towards bow upgrades, thereby retaining the higher range)

Sounds good! How about an archer who fires twice per turn, like a tatar archer, a mongol or just an european with a compost? Maybe?

Well i thought you suggested a new unit instrad of an upgrade but yeah I will work on the sprite to give it rgb colors and maybe keep one for multi amd the other one for map editor.

Unless its cost would be 7+ turns i don't like idea of foot archer that is affected by blacksmith upgrades and has 2 actions.

Archers already are one of the main units in the game.

As for renaming i like composite bowman name.

It is still an upgrade.
Even though it is renamed longbowman still requires an upgrade.
