WWII Navies - Aircraft Carriers

Post by COOLguy »

I am opening a new thread for this now.
Is 2x2 too big for the unit image?
Thanks!

Hi
Please keep 32×32.

You need same angel as the battleships have and
Only on border of ship planes(if u wanna do)

Patroid

Daniel can you make that the catriers can produce units.
If not tgat you can place planes like when production completed
On the carriers(not like wagon you should see the planes on it)

carriers can be exception if we want, that is big enough to be 2x2 tile size.
but sure, we can start with 1x1 too.

As I said in "Helicopter view", I think the carriers should have the ability to garrison planes in it (and mend them while they are inside). I don't like so much the idea of the carriers producing units (or summoning them either - I would like the planes to be normal units). But what do you guys think?

I will try drawing them in 1x1 tile and see.

Daniel: are the 2x2 tile unit move bugs fixed?
Thanks!

planes: sure, they are normal units (summoning in WW2 is not an option)
2x2: no, but it will, so you can count on it.

And Japanese. That's it. French had one that did slightly less than nothing, and the Germans tried to build one, but had a 20 year disadvantage. The Italians had no excuse. :)

Nice images! But, is it just me, or do the uk and American images all look extremely similar?

Thank you! They are all similar design - the same one with edits. Mostly they are size differences, UK is slightly darker than US but they have different flags, too.

they are cool!
suggestion: what do you think about a 2x2 image? because i think aircraft carriers the only units that could be 2x2 considering their size. (and in that size 64x64px you will have space to draw it more detailly)

I'm not sure what you mean. Actually I had already edited Japan, but forgot to upload it. Practically all their carriers were converted from another type of ship, and that is why they look different.

A couple of points: aircraft carriers are MASSIVE...not as much in WWII as they are today, but they were still immense...if ground troops are 1x1, shouldn't carriers be about 1x4 or even 1x or 2x5? A nimitz class aircraft carrier is around 1100 feet long...that's huge...
This is going on the assumption that there will be battle scenarios involving air, sea and ground units on the same map, of course...

Also, what we call heavy cruisers in today's navy is what they used to call battleships in WWII...i don't know that it matters, just trying to help avoid confusion in the unit types...
It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people wonder if you're a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...

Daniel banned the not square based units, because they stuck in movement.
and it is quite hard to move with a 2*2 unit. for example in sws the star destroyer can't move normally and causes a glitch when built/trained
