Interspecies cooperation (4-6 players)

Post by Sunrise Samurai »

For Sunrise Shogunate members (remember anyone can join, just be part of the league before joining the game.

Up until now, there hasn't been much multiplayer exploration to interspecies cooperation. Some single player campaigns demonstrate the impressive capabilities of combined might, but don't account for the difficulty of cooperation in multiplayer.

I'd like to propose a game where we work together, using such strategies as keeping an orc king near several quick archers, summoning green dragon creates corpses perfectly placed for summoning a bone dragon by an undead ally, and sentinels can gain lifelink and double strike from an allied human mage.

We'll need a 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, or 2 vs 2 vs 2 match to practice.

Sounds like a think I wont to be in. Bur what if allies will be spawned far from their selfs?

If allies are on opposite corners, this gets harder, but not impossible. 3 out of the 4 races have wagons, and elves aren't known for being slow anyway. Most of the important "sharing" units are the casters anyway, which already perform best with wagons. I think elves are more a recipient to the spells than providers, with the exception of eagle eye, so they should be shipping armies to allies, not wagons of specific casters. Still need at least one more person for a 2x2 match.

What combinations should we try first?

I'd also mention that the first player to play, if teams play in a row, would be the trend setter, providing the second with many of their opportunities.

Example: catapults bomb a group of cheap infantry. Allied lich should move immediately after to avoid an intelligent enemy stepping all over the corpses, rather than have the undead player moving first, and having to wait for everyone to move before being able to take advantage of the many corpses.

We have myself, Doomcarrot, and Midonik so far. Anyone else want to join us to make a foursome so we can get this game underway?

If this is a match, we could do it three on one. You guys against me, it will be nice team works for you guys. The battle could take place on Decora.

Let's try 2 on 2 for now. I'm thinking elf/orc vs human/orc to start? Orcs have some of the best synergistic buffs, so I think they are a good place to start.

All combinations are each race combination. That's 6 different team possibilities, assuming only 2 player teams. That's not going to fit in a single match.

So it seems we get to try and cross the vast expanse to help one another. Midonik and I are allied in the northwest and southeast, while Doomcarrot and LordOfAles are southwest and northeast.

And that's why I don't make this map if I'm putting any players as undead. It's a decent one for anything else, but the early corpses, plus spiders to hold corpses without vanishing, make the turn 5 lich into an unstoppable strategy.

Seeing as LordOfAles is no longer playing, things seem to have fallen apart a little. It seemed like we were going to get some good cooperative practice in too.

That's my map. The reason I make many corpses, mushrooms, and abandoned houses because the map take place on a land destroyed in battlefield and corrupted by dark magic.

Maybe the best idea for this would be to start a tournament. Competition tends the get people active. Should we hold one soon, or wait for the tournament of dragons to progress a bit first? Also, ideas for a name?

Im the current dragon tournament, there is hardly much progress and the screenshots to show it. I think it might be a good idea to start a new tournament.

Yeah, it seems a little slow right now. Nobody's posting screenshots seems to be the problem. Maybe having 4 players in a game would give a higher chance of at least one giving updates.

Suggestions on a name, and prize for the winning team?

New discovery. Elf summoned ents and wolves can be preserved by an allied spirit tower. A rather potent combination, honestly.

LOA doesn't play multiplayer because he doesn't have much time, not because he's new.
