Polishable unit images in AOS
Re: Polishable unit images in AOS
Ah, OK. Perfect explanation on colour - after all they are supposed to represent less elite members of crusade armies.
Sorry about that armor part - sometimes it takes looking in specific way to see something. On a closeup it seemed weird to me. As I looked from close to game prospective it's fine.

Re: Polishable unit images in AOS
@Endru1241 ,Would you like the Cavalry to be drawn like normal? Or somewhat in a frontal angle like chariot?

Re: Polishable unit images in AOS
I think regular image is better for now - missionary upgrade image with more frontap position was not really valued.

Hi,
The crossbow thing u did would be a step back to what originally was critizised.
Why do you even want to remake my campaign units (crusader and moslem)?

This is why I made an attempt.StormSaint373 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 12:12 pm Perhaps, I can edit...
Tunic looks too small . . . And flat.
I'll try to use my design, just at a different angle
As for crusader, I thought they would be nice...
I don't mean to cause offence.
There were complaints already as to how the Church units looked out of place. I thought I'd fix that.
I EVEN attempted YOUR style of shading, the one you pulled off on the skirmisher and Spartan Hoplite. (Looks really cool! When's it getting in?)
I thought you would like them...
As for Sarcens, I haven't touched.
If you want, I can draw . . . Updates, for them as well?

Re: Polishable unit images in AOS
Both hoplite and skirmishers redesigns are already in (skirmishers for quite some time).
I think these images would be replacing current ones:
It's mainly patroid's - I just did some perspective adjustment for weapons and changed team coloring.

Crossbow look fine now.
But the helm needs to be differentiated from the coif
Maybe draw a line to separate the two?

It would be good if you could make their elbows longer, their arms look a bit short in my opinion

Better.
For angle presentation, it's fine.
But I'd like to see a bit more armor.
They do have 1/1 armor at base. So maybe change the cloth shirt to chain shirt.

Re: Polishable unit images in AOS
Helmet is patroid's actually.
I didn't post it, but unit_archer_e_arbalest.png was implemented
unit_archer_e_arbalest_new8.png has Shoulder armor added from newest patroid image.
I could change it like that, but I wonder if it's not too much.

Actually, the shoulder armor looks good.
Matches Halberdier and Guisarmeman
(Did I spell the 2nd correctly?)

Hi,
@StormSaint373
Since noone reacts to you i gonna do it.
The current Crusader units are units i got requested to do for a campaign years ago.
So they are of course not looking as good as the recent ones.
Your try to 'modernise them' is good but id say they are not good enough to replace the old rather simple designs.
I personally take your try as a reminder that i should update most of the units i have in the game since i know that i can make nearly alll of the units that are currently implemented in the game atleast a bit better.
Since my 2nd year of university just started im a buty busy so i dont rlly got too much tkime to do all the Units by myself.
But i will slowly try to rework them based on what you did.
Here a first example (its WIP)

Re: Polishable unit images in AOS
I'm sorry that you didn't take much of a likeing to them...
These ones look really good!
I did do my best to do yours justice...
I, after all, tried to follow your pattern for shading.
Tis innovative.

I am not able to edit attachments properly (phpBB fault), so I only listed not done yet images.
Here they are visually.

I don't see a reason to polish the zweihander wielders. They look great in their own.
Here are the spanish left-overs. I put minimum effort in it so feel free to edit them.
