Reach - Spears against flying units ANSWERED

I was thinking that, as you have proposed for AoF, that units armed with long weapons might gain, after you research it at the advancement center or at the Tcs, the Reach ability, that allow them to deal higher damage to the ornithopter

Let's see, unless you have a 50 foot long spear, you would be unable to reach them while flying.

sorry, but no, this is a fantasy "magical" ability/spell. this can not be implemented in AOS.

I was thinking it as a trained ability. When an ornithopter fall on the enemy they counterattack with their spears

ornithopter does not "fall" it throws rocks on enemy or something.
