Hot Air balloon

HOT Air Balloon-

Balloons for human air warfare
Simple balloon - Not ship.

Build :siege workshop /town
Carry cap 1-2?
Medium cost 4-6 no more.
Splash dmg-area attack.(throwing little bombs or Stg?)
Speed 4-6? (obviosly slower than ornithopher but more hp )



NOT copy from dwarfs - humans are enougn ingenious to have own flying flotta - weaker of course. (future flying ships tipe)
Good alternative for ornithopher - if research Flying-
.
Let's make a flying siege vehicle for humans.

I fully support the idea, it just what would this be? I would support transport but how about anti-air or ground assault. We have multiple versions of these balloons. Also perhaps it would be easy to design these if we just go along with the picture.

Wouldn't humans need gunpowder to drop bombs? And as far as i remember they have it only in aos and it doesnt fit fantasy setting. Maybe drop some fiery things.

Maybe you can research Fireball, that gives it the ability to you know Fireball.

For balloon keep a simple design like first pic.
This is for wings and propellers upgrade.

Uhm i will think a bit later on this. I like idea of giving more units to humans which require flight tech.

Also i want to rebalance ornithopters

Hot air balloon:

Cost 5 turns, trainable at tc, castle. Flying unit, needs flying tech researched first.
Hp - 40, burnable
Attack - 6, 100% bonus to giants, 50% bonus to regular buildings, 100% to walls, 200% to towers, 700% to mega buildings
Range - 4
Actions/turn - 2
Armor - 0/1
Speed - 4
Sight - 9
Carry capacity - 2 (can carry only infantries and archers, can't carry mechanical units and cavalry, units inside can't perform any actions – like in the wagon)
Burning weapon passive (forgot to add...)
Affected by blacksmith's bow upgrades only.

Also ornithopters rebalancing:
Cost - 4 turns
Hp - 15
Attack - 21, 50% bonus to ships, mechanical units (catapults, dwarven zeppelins...)
Actions/turn - 1
Range - 1
Armor - 1/1
Dodge counter - 50%
Speed - 8 (lowered from current by 2)
Sight - 10
Affected by blacksmith's infantry armor upgrades only.

Comment: i don't like idea of mages on balloon casting fireballs. This way as i suggest it will become not so bad support siege unit that can also transport your imperials exept of knight.

It seems good.
But Wat kind of attack has, for range 5?
An Archer inside.. Than bonuses don't fit.
For bombarding,they fit but that needs lesser range, (Skill range 2)

Damage type - piercing, bonuses fit good because it is hard to hit cavalry or infantry from that height but big units like giants much easier as well as buildings.
Still hard to shoot precise other flying units and because no bonus to them.

As for attack range i think 4 will be a bit better.

And remember that this unit is for air support and transporting units only.
And last thing - this unit has no active skills.

If it's a simple balloon with arrow attack than bonus have no sense to building.
Burning weapon - okay that resolve the problem.
Also I think it's bad idea to carry wizard with fireball skill.
But for bombarding is still reasonable ability (we can add in future if change our mind. Or to a flying ships anyway)

I think the stats are ready.
Focus on image.

Can pass over walls?

Well if it's not possible to make it any smaller I would recommend extending the height so the balloon can be higher.
