Here's the matron with some shading. That's all I did to update her.

Here's the new darkling.

Btw, give the matron dark burst instead of magic missile. It's the undead variant that comes with an added effect of just give her energy siphon instead since she is a vampire.

And change charm to normal convert, charms a sirens move that effects ships only.

Btw, give summon a 3 turn cool or make it use corpses of just be an alternate convert spell, meaning she could turn an enemy living unit into a darkling. But if not then just make it use corpses that way it isn't too powerful.

The corpse one sounds better, she turns her victims into Darklings by feeding upon their incapacitated bodies.
