Structure: Palisade wall IMPLEMENTED

Post by Alex486 »

How about adding a palisade wall defence. The fence could be built by a worker in 1 turn. Since palisade were weak temporary structures, the proposed wall should be defeated by a few blows of a swordsman unit. For a picture, it would like picked logs.

It will add the strategy to claim land quickly. 3 workers working as a team can build a quick defensive line to slow down an attack.
Anything is feasible with enough money and power.

isnt it the same as the "paveze"? (that has already a topic here) please check, and if so, i will merge the topics.

update: i found it only in the collection like this:
Structure: Paveze: defensive "container". Like a tower, 2 spaces in it, stationary, no attack, 25 hp, 2 turns to build.
so it is ok having here a separate topic for it.

Idk what is a 'paveze'. But I don't think the palisades have garrison space.
Thanks!

Idk what a paveze is either. Couldn't find it on Wikipedia.

The palisade would act as a speed bump to slow down advancing army.

Yes, a palisade is a wooden wall used for defence, a "paveze is....... i have no idea what it is, but it seems to be described aabove as some kind of guard tower :D

Ah ok, I looked it up, paveze seems to be the plural of pavăză, which is Romania for shield. ;)

Actually pavese (pavéze in Hungarien) Is somewhat like a siege shield.
they build it up, archers hide behind this to be protected of the defender's arrows.
They can shoot behind this by movingbout of the protected are.

I added the idea quite a long time ago. I read pavese in a book, but siege shield might be a better name. So I think rhe two topixs sjoild remain seoarated, because the sige shield were movable, that's why it sjoild be a unit.
This is Hungary and winter is coming.

Palisade

Post by Hardeep »

Pretty much a wooden wall, a few sharpened stakes sticking out
just think about the flavour It would add to story lines, instead of stone camps there would be more realistic on the grind ambiance plus it can be constructed on forests :)
lets get some pictures rolling and some hp suggestions
they would be highly flammable, of course

There could be a tech required, a primal one, mind you. Woodworking. Lets say 1 turn

How about these are given the stats of the current wall, minus about half health, and the current wall can only be made after masonry, requires more turns or has a palisade to wall upgrade.?

New defensive structure: Wooden Palisade

Post by HokanPL »

Hello everybody :)

I have an idea for a new structure: Wooden Palisade. Much weaker than Stone wall, but faster to build

Cost 2turns
Hp 40
Attack power 0
Range 0
Armor 3
Pierce Armor 3
Speed 0
Sight 1
Action /turn 1/1
Spell resistance 100%
Size 1x1
Builders: Workers
